I'm still using Castor Oil (straight) almost everyday. I love this stuff! My daughter's hair loves it too. I normally use Castor oil from oilsbynature but I only have a few ounces left since my "accident". So I recently bought some Jamaican Black Castor Oil in the brown bottle. I hope it works just the same.

I have been oiling my scalp 2-3 times a week and I can definitely tell the difference in my hair. My NG is loving it!! Just wanted to give you ladies an update!

I washed my hair last night so I will be applying my JBCO to my NG when I get home from work this evening. The JBCO definitely keeps my NG under control!!

I'm in. This is my first challenge. Question: Since I started using castor oil, I noticed little sores in my head - is this a castor oil reaction?

I am slightly allergic so I tried to get it as close to the scalp without putting it directly on my scalp. Sometimes it may itch where I scratch my scalp until it is sore......do you get the itchies?

applying laxative castor oil thus far, going well. i'm in the market for JBCO but don't wanna pay $10 shipping from sams 24/7....ugh. sticking with laxative castor oil for the moment.

Still oiling it up and how come nobody told me that Vitacost has 32 ounces of Castor Oil for like 8 bucks??? Too bad I've already bought this other stuff but at least I know for next time :)

before i break out the castor oil  i wanted to know if any relaxed ladies use castor oil on their hair regularly? if so how do you use it? i have some castor oil but feel its to heavy for my relaxed hair even when mixed with other oils.

I'm relaxed, I apply it as if I'm greasing my scalp. I use a little bit, but I wear textured styles most of the time so my hair being weighed down a little bit doesn't matter. Now if I was wearing my hair flat ironed, pin str8 I wouldn't use the Castor Oil it would weigh it down too much.

makes sense. im stretching so a little castor oil on my NG could do me some justice.

Finally took my braids out Saturday and twisted it today. Castor oil is great for twisting too.
Today I put a little on my scalp and twisted my hair with a mini-dot of it with the shea butter and jojoba oil.....

PROGRESS UPDATE (Pics coming soon): My edges are filling in!:spinning: The right side more than the left however:wallbash:...I started the challege with braids so I was putting the Castor Oil with the Herbal Temple Balm on my thinning edges....Today I was able to catch the hair in those areas for twisting! I am so excited...This stuff is the bomb:grin:......BTW...I use the Clear Castor oil you buy from the Health Food Store....I caught it on sale for like 4.59 or 3.59.....What a steal!:yep:

That reminds me...When my hair was in braids...of course you can see the new growth better, so i was putting it on the NG. When I took my braids out and shampooed Saturday, I noticed the NG was softer. When I co-washed last night...it was very obvious the castor oil softened it up! My twists look 1000X better than ever!

Still going strong with my jbco. My edges are also filling in. Due to my use, I have also increased the frequency of my washes. I think this combo will make a big difference.

I see everyone is making progress. Keep up the great work ladies! HHG!

Haven't kept up in the past few days since I last posted because i've been in & out of hospital. I'm using it now again only on the left side.

Ok. I want in on this challenge. I'll be using castor oil as my pre-poo and greasing my scalp with it 2x a week. I made my decision after trying it as a pre-poo. good stuff  heres my starting pic. same as siggy but lets make it official right.

ETA: Wait is it to late to join? Oh well I'll be an unofficial challenger. But next time around i def want in.
