IC Olive styling gel on damp edges + a toothbrush/ brush + scarf = slick edges, I am relaxed 4b but I am several weeks post and my edges have a lot of visible growth.

I am having this same issue. I have tried so many gels and pomades and they don't work. Some work for a couple of hours and that's it! I'm subscribing cause I want some good tips to control my edges.....

Try Organic Root Stimulator Edge Control. A little goes a long way

I swear by Organic Root Stimulator Edge Control and its only $5.There is one that $15 that my hair dresser uses. I think its brand is Design Control or something like that. But I keep a small jar of Organic Root Stimulator Edge Control in my purse. I love it

You can try using JBCO on your edges and tie with a scarf for a few minutes. This has worked wonderfully for me.

I tried ORS and it did nothing for my edges. The only thing that consistently works for me is Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel...

What a bout Hicks Edges?

I tried it. I did a review on it in my fotki. It worked......but it doesn't lay the edges down all day. Maybe its not ment to be with the edges. I tried all the above except lotta body.........what is it? Where do I find it?

Side note: I use hicks edges on my edges when I do my flat twist to give my edges a stretch. It's works excellent like that and gives that section of hair great hold and curl defination.

Im subscribing. I have mostly 4a hair, but dem der edges are, 4z. I've asked this question before.

ORS Edge control: works great on flat ironed hair, cringes and fails on my natural wet or dry hair

Lottabody: fail on my wet natural hair. Diluted, sprayed on edges, tied down w/scarf...and I had pine cones for edges the next am. Could be the concentration...I just don't know.

Shea butter w/aloe vera gelly: put on wet hair, brush with baby brush, tie down w/scarf...moss for edges in the am. Tbh, it worked a few times and didn't last but a few hours

Tonight, I cowashed (in 4 ponytails) with Aussie 3 min miracle, shirt dried, put in KCKT, sprayed a lil Taliah Waajid Mist Bodifier, castor oil and aloe vera gelly to edges, banded in 4 pony tails, tied down w/scarf. We shall see what happens.

I am absolutely frustrated. Its hard to look polished when your edges look like burnt pine cones.

Why do you have to wear your edges strait when you're natural? Am I missing something, here?:look:

Lol, I flat iron (not trying to heat train). I also wear my hair in a pony puff/curls w/o flat ironing, it looks more professional and polished (at least to me) when the edges are laid down-the pony can be frizzy/puffy but not my edges.

Oh, sure. Here is my reggie, I have been doing it about 3.5 months.

Reggie:

Every 2 weeks,
-Prepoo w/evco, evoo x 30 min w/heat
-Wash with SM Moisture Retention
-Oil rinse w/grapeseed or avocado oil *NEW STEP*
-Detangle with YTCc or Aussie 3 min or Aussie Moist
-Henna/indigo after wash, condish rinse (if use henna, will oil rinse after henna)
-Deep condition w/YTCc w/evco or AOHSR
-Kimmaytube leave in OR Chicoro leave in (use a lot less oil)
-Use Mizani Thermasmooth Step 3 (heat protectant with ceramides)
-Tension blow-dry hair on low/medium heat
-Use Mizani Thermasmooth Step 4 as I flat iron hair with HAI 320-360 F

Nightly/every other night,
-Moisturize the ends with a little avg or HEHH or rose water/avg mix and seal with wheat germ oil(ceramides)/evco mix or plain evco
-Oil scalp with evco/evoo/emu oil/castor oil OR grapeseed oil/avocado oil (trying new lighter mix) OR plain evco.

Wear in bun. When roots revert, either roll with satin rollers or 2 strand twists with rolled ends.
PS the curls into a bun or just pin curls up for a tousled look.

I am trying to incorporate cowashs into my regimen too, 1-2x/wk.

Challenges:
-2011 APL Challenge (unofficial)
-Cowash Challenge
-HOTs, Oil Rinses, Ends/Scalp Sealing
-2011 Ceramides Challenge
