Ateeya's hair looks really good, I saw that video a while back! Idk why set backs are not allowed in LHCF, she had a really bad set back with a weave a while back and she's managed to regrow the hair. I wonder how some pple would feel if someone said to you, "gosh, you've been on a diet 4 yrs now and all u lost is 10 lbs?!!!" Struggles are struggles. I know for a fact her hair looks better than a loooot of the hair I see on the street irl. So I gotta give props where props are due. I do like that she stopped using the other stuff and switched to Kenra.

I do think there was a video where she said she liked her hair that length. I can't be too sure, I'm not a follower/subscriber.

Not to question you (Its more for her), but if she likes her hair at that length why does she continue to hide it under those deathly looking wigs?

In her most recent video(posted last week) she got a trim and her hair looks really healthy and thick from root to tip. It looks like her hair has fully recovered from her setback. It looks really beautiful imo. She's also promoting black science and plans to use that regimen for now.

Who cares what you guys say. If her hair was all that healthy, it would be longer. She needs to put her hands up and step away from the flat iron....

Wonder why she blow dried and flat ironed her hair just to put it in a sew in? IDK, Ateya be doing her own thing. Just not sure what that is.

I really don't know what is going on with Ateya's hair. I want to think her hair stays that length because she wants it that way. However, she always visibly needs a trim. I'm new to this whole hair care/growth thing..but I don't think you should need a trim as much as she needs them.

Her hair is pretty. My hair swings like that at that length. Actually the pic in my avi is that length from back in 2002. As it gets longer it still has movement but it won't swing for the simple fact that my body is in the way lol. Unless I held my head over or swung it intentionally. But thats because I've always done little to no product.

All that heat hurt my feelings, but her hair looks good and she looks really pretty with her real hair, as opposed to the lacefronts. I know she uses them as part of her retention and now her business, but the lacefronts hide her natural beauty.

Yea I don't like when she wears those lacefronts.

Here hair does look ALOT better than it has for awhile.

She lost me when she started doing NuGro products(not knocking the products, but I think with those products, the wigs/lacefronts and weaves it took away from what she had with the aphogee)...

She lost me too with nugro her hair is very nice.

^^^^^ Yea the Nu Gro just didn't seem like it did anything for her hair, but make it look bad.(JMO)

I don't knock her though even though some of the things she does I wouldn't do and I know how heat is not great for your hair im living that right now with no growth, breakage and shedding going on.

I feel like everyone finds there own ways of doing things to there hair and finds different methods and regimens and are successful.

Remember how we were when we were younger and before we found LHCF and a great regimen that we did things to our heads that we probably would've and should've been bald headed. (Not saying this about Ateyaa) But everyone goes through set backs and those times. I remember when I turned my hair orange(yea I wanted to be blonde ---used blonde box color, then red, and then black again in one night) Stupid things I did.

Re: Ateyaa is back with her 2011 regimen

her hair does look nice and it has a lot of movement, but why hasnt it grown much? I have been subscribed to her for a about 2 years and im just now seeing growth. I think the length that she has retained is because she started stretching her relaxers, but then she goes and put so much heat on her hair!? Her hair would hair would grow like a weed if she would just use that flat iron maybe once a month instead of weekly or maybe if she stand can not having straight hair she could do a weekly rollerset and silk wrap with no flatironing.

She may like her hair that length, but it's probably because that's the 'lifetime' of the style. By that I mean this is the length at which she can keep her up 'swang' regimen and her ends don't look too shabby. Her ends always look significantly worse than a few inches up. You don't see this nearly as much with others who use heat regularly, even at longer lengths (e.g. Reniece, Pinkskates).

For those asking why some keep focusing on Ateyaaa's length, y'all have to remember that this is the long hair care forum. The majority of the ladies here are biased toward length.

I think Ateyaaa's hair is pretty. She hasn't retained much which isn't surprising considering her practices. When I look at her hair history, I doubt if it would be wise for her to say she's aiming for BSL or WL with her current practices and how we've seen them to affect her hair. Some can retain length with all that heat and manipulation, others can't and it looks like she's one of those. It's smart of her to keep her hair at a length that fits her regimen. Different hair, different results. Overall it's lovely hair. I'm not mad at her.

Side note: I wish she would ease up on those weird wigs. She looks stunning with her own hair.

Maybe I'm too sensitive and worried about what other people will think when I shouldn't be, but I really wish she hadn't said the part about her hair stinking....and then she still doesn't wash it for like another week :look:

And I just saw the part about rubbing the shampoo into the damaged spots. I don't get that.

ETA: But then maybe paragraph 2 is her remedy for paragraph 1? I guess that's it. Anyway, the final product is pretty.

Her hair might be like mine, in that my hair does not look good if I use heat consistently at any point beyond SL. I had to learn that and now my hair is growing like a weed again.

I don't understand why she uses so much heat anyways since she's wearing sew-ins (and is relaxed!). IMHO, her hair looked great after the blow-dry.

Maybe she cares more about having straight, swangin' hair than she cares about having long hair. It's clear that she uses a lot of heat and no one's hair can withstand that much heat AND look good/healthy UNLESS they were keeping it relatively short. And considering Ateeya's not pixie-length, she's doing a heckuva better job at this than most. I'd take Ateeya's SL over a lot of people's APL (including mine) anyday.

As for the wigs and sew-ins, isn't she getting paid for this hair thing? :look: There's only so many videos you can do about "my wash day" and "how to flat iron" and keep people coming back.

I agree...after a certain length (i.e. after shoulder length) hair loses that effortless swing (no matter who's head it's on)
