DejaVu2. It looks 3c/b to me as well. Your hair is gorgeous! I understand exactly how you feel. There will never be a fro for me either :ohwell: I will add, there will never be beautiful braidouts, twistouts, etc. as my hair slips out of any type of braid/twist. :wallbash:

Ain't no way in HEYALL you are a type 4 anything.
Really, you can get mad if you want, your choice...but hair typing serves zero purpose. So if you don't know your hairtype, you aren't going to suffer some big consequence as a result. True story. I honestly wished it was never invented in the first place.

Esthi777 I'm so happy someone feels my pain. :lol:

My Twist outs are wack, my braidouts are wack, I only have wash and gos to fall back on.

@ms.blue - thanks hun @cheryl - thanks

@Meloe18 - Tell me about it :lol:

@ms-gg - I want to know my hairtype so I can start following those with a similar head as mine. I can't help how I feel when I see beautiful braidout/twists that my hair just cant hold up.

But even if you know your hairtype, that doesn't mean that your hair will behave or even look like theirs. The best way to find out how to get similar results as someone is through physically looking at their pictures, and trying it out. Knowing your hairtype is not a shortcut that will magically open up the natural hair floodgates to all of the hidden secrets of styling your hair.

The people from whom I learned the most from don't even have hair that looks like mine. But we share the same porosity and strand size which helped me more than trying to base my regimen off of how my hair behaved when it was bone dry without any product.

Your hair is beautiful! Even if you roll out the bed, shake it and go I think it would still be beautiful. :yep:

Hair typing does not really serve a purpose, BUT I will say that it makes it easier to find Youtube videos and posts here with people who have hair similar to yours. I like looking a all videos, but when I find a video with hair similar to my hair it lets me know that I can REALLY achieve a certain style.

With that said, your hair looks like 3b/c to me.

@DejaVu2

Is there a need to roll your eyes? You know you can go blind from that.

Stop projecting your own hair insecurities onto me, please. If you think there is no way a type 3 girl can envy type 4 hair, that's your problem.

I bet I wouldn't be attacked like this if my hair was type 4.

Damn

Peace out.

What happened? Did you get a PM? Did someone delete a message?

ITA :yep::yep::yep: I have 3c/4a hair texture and I've found the most success when I started paying attention to what other fine haired ladies were doing with their hair.

Natural again ... this time for good!
I picked "I see the entire type 3 family up your hurrr".

And DejaVu2, I completely feel your pain about the twist-out / braid-out disasters. Although my curls are 3c/4a and my hair is thinner in density, I have the same issue. It's either wash-n-go or straight for me (or my trusty bun). Anything else takes multiple products, cajoling and an act of Congress to get my hair to act right.

NappyNelle

Kinky Coily 4A, Fine Strands, WSL
Dense 3B. I can't tell if you're strands are fine, medium, or thick, from the pictures.

@TaraDyan- :lachen:Gurl you feel me right.

I tried twist outs the other day and wanted to cry.

I know some people get inspired by watching hair gurus even if they are not a similar hairtype but I get frustrated when I see someone do something I can't do. That's why I want to figure out my hairtype and start watching those tutorials. I'm getting tired of wash and gos. Surely there must be other styles for us :lol:
