Reneice And Company Are Out Of Control

I must be the only fool that can't get my Willie Morrow comb to stay on my blow dryer. I've recently switched to the Red Kiss nozzle dryer and I really like it's already cracked. I've used it prob 10-15 times. I honestly think Reneice can charge whatever she wants because she obviously has the expertise and client examples to back it up.

Meanwhile, I'm over here in London just lusting after a stylist like her:cry3:I haven't been to the salon in ages. I miss it, but can not be bothered to start experimenting to find one (stylist). It's funny that I don't recall seeing my old stylists handling natural hair. I hope things have changed in this day and age because I am going to want to treat myself at some point, and unfortunately for me, I can't see me flying to Maryland.

I will never let anyone do my hair but Reniece and Company. I had no edges when I started, Reniece weaved me back to healthy hair, check out my siggy pic. I live in NC and travel to her every 3 months. I have strayed and tried several supposedly "top stylists" in NC, only to be so disappointed that I cried. I am trying to get Reniece to open a salon in NC with some backing from me and other investors. Her pricing is worth every penny and the saying "that you get what you pay for" is sooo true.

The junior stylists are no longer juniors, they have been working for 4 years and their work is on point. I love the salon and have been weaved by Breon, Shannon and Shamira, they are all excellent. Reniece is not for everyone and I'm glad because I want to continue to get my appointments when I need them....LOL But personally for me this is an investment in my happiness and mental health. The one on one interaction in a private setting is well worth the money. I recently went to a supposedly "high end salon" in Charlotte, only to discover that 7 1/2 hours later I was in a nightmare...... I can fly from NC, land in DC, take a 50 minute metro ride to Rockville, get to the salon and 2 hours later I'm walking out catching a flight back home with the entire trip taking about 9-10 hours..... :) And I'm happy! (and that's PRICELESS!)
PS: the trip to Charlotte took 11-12 hours and I was not happy!

@carolb21

When you are in her chair and you wanna start a conversation, don't hesitate to mention my name :look:
I only see a daily waiting list and not a "standing" wait list. If I'm overlooking it on the site please PM me.
I hope she has a standing wait list that she calls on when a slot for chair opens up.

@Subscribe, I have an appointment on Tuesday and will be sure to mention your name...lol
I'm not sure about the waiting list but will ask and post on Tuesday. I've been a client for 9 years and it was well worth the wait. Reniece and the other ladies are absolutely wonderful and when you get in you will see that all the hype is for real......:toocool:

Are you saying the comb cracked or your dryer? Sometimes the comb slides off mine, but I just put it back on and keep going. :bling: I delibrately don't tighten it to the max on my dryer because I want to be able to take it off at will and clean it fully, so the sliding is gonna happen.

Last night, I watched Reniece video showcasing her and Tamika Bell's (dontspeakdefeat) customers healthy hair. I'm like "yo...she's worth it". I wouldn't go bi-weekly but definitely bi-monthly.

Is it this video?

If so, this is beyond sick. I would go to Reniece in a heartbeat no matter the price! I am out here being charged $1200 base for weave installs and $500 for wash/DC/blowdry from celeb stylists. But Reniece is perfection and at an extremely good price. I wish I had a chance to get an appointment with her. Ugh!

:drool: I'm seriously thinking of signing up. I wish there was someone in Atlanta with work like this, who actually cares about hair health.

Yes, @Rastafarai! This video had me second guessing my thoughts on her price increase.

She is in Douglasville and she trained under Reneice. Judging by her portfolio, she is pretty good.

Thank you!

Dang $135 for a length check. Her work looks great though. I only want to get my hair straightened once a year, so I think I can live with it. I'd have to think of it as a treat to myself.

I wonder if it comes with a shampoo and wash. Or do you come prepped for just the flat iron and trim.

@angelhairtype4 You are welcome! If you go, please PM me and let me know how it goes. I believe that the $135 includes the wash and DC. I was thinking about trying her and was interested in someone's input.

My dryer cracked. My WM comb comes off all the time. I think it's because I'm afraid to fully tighten it all the way

My mother won't let me do her hair. She went to some round the way lady for $40 for a wash, press and curl. The lady gave her a barely blow out, light touch (*she didn't even use any pressing grease*) with an electric comb and slight bumps with a flat iron.

She was :angry2:. Then came home pulled out comb and redid press (she's not worried about heat damage).

Me - you get what you pay for #nosympathy

The 4c model in the Reneice vid ought to look somewhat familiar..:giggle: If I was in/near the Atl, I'd DEF try to see @dontspeakdefeat . She doesn't think like the average hairdresser I've come across. Her posts here speak for themselves.

My goal would be to see her twice a month for two months. Follow all her advice and guidance, pick her brains. Follow her regimen religiously. Then reassess at the end of that period, noting hair health and growth. I would reassess to see if twice monthly treatment remains necessary. As soon as I could, I would drop the visits to monthly, just maintainance. I should have products noted, technique and the like. Of course it will be a far cry from her but it should hold you over till the next session

Reniece and her staff do beautiful work, but for $100, I can buy an actual flat iron and some heat protectant and do it myself. This would make more sense if her salon was in NYC.

Not even in NYC I got my hair blown out at the Dominicans with a trim for $40 last year and the salon I usually go to charges about $50 for a blow dry/flat iron on natural hair. I'm still not understanding how $100 is feasible for ANY salon to charge for such a basic service that does not cater to celebrities, especially for someone not located in a large city.

I consider Washington D.C. A large city. Rockville is just an affluent suburb of the city and we all reference D.C. Instead of the suburb name. It's all on the same metro line.

Sigh... Oh how my hair and I miss her so! I live in Miami and would fly up to Maryland because she ws just that good... This was me when I started and two years later when I stopped... I would gladly pay whatever because she is worth it!

Looking at these pic, I would say her work is worth it. The reason I started my hair journey was in part because of bad service from hair salons. It was all about the money and your hair condition was the least of their concern. If you calculate the amount spent on natural hair products, including what we give away, don't like, don't work, haven't gotten around to; it may work out to the same price yearly.
