I suffered a setback from using SM superfruit 10-in-1 masque
20150710_102413.jpg
I used it on clarified detangled hair. It didn't stick to my hair. I would find the product still on my hands after application. My scalp burned & hair locked on contact. I lost a golf ball sized amount of hair. It's odd because the masque has (my HG) BTMS as an active ingredient. It also feels very slippery & wet.

QB Moringa Tree Conditioning Ghee, Dabur Vatika Naturals Virgin Olive Deep Conditioning Mask, SM Kids Coconut Hibiscus conditioner, detangling mist & Curling Butter Cream saved the day. I was able to thoroughly detangle and condition relatively quickly.

Thanks for the well wishes.
This is the extent of the damage...

I used to have wig-like density.
My poor left side edges:missing:

I'm mad at myself. I found my HGs a decade ago. I know not to try every new thing under the sun:naughty:. Lesson learned: “A hard head makes a soft behind":spank:

@Bibliophile

And after just one use? :fistshake:

That is horrible.:cry3:

What was 'in it' that you think didn't agree with your Hair/Scalp? :nervous2:

Can I at least say this? Your Twist look moist & juicy.:drool:

I hope you recover soon.:hug2:

Huuuuge Miss: Shea Moisture Professional Shampoo
Why did I try this? My sister raved about how good it was. So I tried it.
:badidea::cry::eek2:

Let's just say my hair is thoroughly clarified. RIP ALL shampoo. This was an absolute mess.com.org.edu.gov.net. I used half a jar of my DC to revive my hair. DCing as we speak!!!

Oh wow. that sounds like what happened to me and the Belnouvo castor oil dc. It went on nice and slippery. But as soon as I finished applying my scalp started to burn. My hair started to seize up. I immediately washed it out and it took a week for the softness to return to my hair. I had some pH strips and the pH of the condish was 2.5!! The same as vinegar. I immediately contacted them and got a refund, no questions asked. Sounds like a bad batch of conditioner!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Seriously, I hope there are no Setbacks because of this:nono:

Thankfully, I don't believe it did. It just got my hair super duper clean, like, dang, this shampoo said MOISTURIZING. My sister was like, girl, you can run your fingers through your hair with this poo. Then I had to think about it, her hair is growing back baby fine from the chemo (she's in full remission by the way :yay:) so I'm sure she can run anything through her hair :lol:.

I tried one section and my hair was like HELL NO :lachen:

@NaturallyATLPCH

It's always scary trying out a new product, especially when you got your Regi on point and things are going fine.:eek:

I stay paranoid that something might 'mess up' my well oiled machine.:lol:

For Sis =:congrats:

The SM Superfruit Complex Masque is full of acids & fruit (acai, rasberry, gogi, guava) extracts. It's not like the previous masques that were emulsifed butters & oils with some H2O. My HG clarifying shampoo (Redken Hair Cleansing Cream) also has acids & extracts (apple, lemon, green tea).
I think all of those acids & extracts were too much for my scalp/hair. It definitely feels “off"; probably pH issue.
