The SM Superfruit Complex Masque is full of acids & fruit (acai, rasberry, gogi, guava) extracts. It's not like the previous masques that were emulsifed butters & oils with some H2O. My HG clarifying shampoo (Redken Hair Cleansing Cream) also has acids & extracts (apple, lemon, green tea).
I think all of those acids & extracts were too much for my scalp/hair. It definitely feels “off"; probably pH issue.

Thank you for that. This masque so far has been less than stellar on my hair and I was trying to figure out why... I didn't consider that. Gonna see if I can mix it with a couple of things and if that doesn't work it'll find a new home.

See that's why I never (rarely) buy from this Line. Too many 'mixed' reviews. :ohwell:

With the exception of the Purification Hair Masque, I basically don't have a 'real' interest in this line.:perplexed: Period.

However the Manuka Honey Masque, JBCO Masque and the Superfruit Masque all made their way into my Stash.:nono:

Maybe I'll use the Superfruit as a final rinse since it contains a lot of Acids (in place) of a final ACV Rinse.

I was skeptical at first too but I got the JBCO mask and I really liked it. Plus I could get it on the ground on sale. I really, really wanted the Superfruit 10 n 1 to work though because that's the one that, on here and the rest of the net, people raved about. It's not working as well as the JBCO. I have the other masques to try out too (except the newest one at Ulta that's not even on Shea Moisture's website yet.).

Folks love the JBCO for a Protein DC'er. I'll have to make sure when I use it to follow up with something Moisturizing.

It made my hair moisturized... It strengthened it but didn't make it "hard". It was pretty soft afterwards... I was so surprised. Even when I added aloe vera juice to it (which typically dries my hair out so I'm not sure why I keep trying ) it still softened my hair. You might want to see what it does to you first though.

Strangely the Superfruit was great on my hair. I was surprised. That and the Manuka Honey so far have been winners. Staple? Not quite sure. But a great otg option.

Thankfully, I don't believe it did. It just got my hair super duper clean, like, dang, this shampoo said MOISTURIZING. My sister was like, girl, you can run your fingers through your hair with this poo. Then I had to think about it, her hair is growing back baby fine from the chemo (she's in full remission by the way :yay:) so I'm sure she can run anything through her hair .

I tried one section and my hair was like HELL NO :lachen:
\

That's GREAT news!!

We usually like a lot of the same things. :yep:

So, I'll give it a go. Anyway, I think I have x2 Jars of each so I can use it a variety of ways.

Have you tried the JBCO?
I haven't tried the JBCO. It's probably wonderful but that Play Doe smell...:barf:
I don't know if I can get past it to test its performance @IDareT'sHair
Smells mean everything to me. It can be a wack product but if it smells great I will make it work

Potential Miss: Hairveda Whipped Gelly
I think this needs to be used alone. I've used it twice with a couple of leave ins and it has flaked on me. I will give it one more go before I toss it or give it away.

Hit: APB Hair Pudding
Forgot how moisturizing this is. Even has a little slip. At first when it was going on I was like I don't know but my hair puff is soft and pliable.

Kj Naturals Ayurvedic Butter:perplexed:

Super Great Fantastic Ingredients but I am really funny about my Hair Butters. This one is a little too hard for my personal liking. :ohwell:

Sure it emulsifies on contact, but I like a more 'softer to the touch' butter with my Buttas.

I'm ticked because I bought x2. :ohwell:

The "Tingly" Oil however, is thebomb.com.net.edu.gov.

Miss:
Sweet Nature By Eddie's LOVE Conditioner with MSM.

Something about her MSM just doesn't agree with my Scalp at all.

Out of the park hit: coconut milk pre-poo treatment.

I added a couple of spoons of honey and put in an applicator bottle. My hair started detangling on its own I swear. My scalp which was acting funny felt great. Upon rinsing hair and scalp were SUPER moisturized. It's an awesome hit because this coconut milk is super cheap and was a miracle for my hair and scalp. Doesn't hurt that these pre-poo masks are supposed to be great for hair growth as well.

Hit: Soultanicals Marula Maru Moisture Guru. Amazing moisture. It keeps my hair soft for days and it has amazing slip. It is worth the hype and I will be getting a full sized jar for BF.

Miss: Karen Body Beautiful DC. It is so runny and it had little white chunks in it. It has amazing slip and felt good after I applied heat, but once I rinsed, nothing. I also had to use half the container to cover my entire head and 2 uses for $25 is not the move. Definitely not a repurchase.

Hit: SM Mango and Carrot kid's shampoo

I used this on DS2 and his little curls were just a-popping and his wasn't dry. I also used this on my hair and really liked it. The scent is kind of strong, but it doesn't stink. It lathers well if you're into that. I'm kinda glad I mistakenly placed two orders at Walgreens lol.

VERY surprising hit... Shea Moisture curling soufflé and the hair milk.
Okkkk... long winded reply below.

So as of late, I've been thinking about how I'd like to get some of my products on the ground and I'm kinda over buying a bunch of hair stuff and waiting for shipping. What really started this was my beloved Darcy's cream gel formula change. This has been a staple for the past year I've been natural and I'd use it with APB stuff. I've gone back and forth with the owner and she says the formula hasn't changed and she graciously sent me a complimentary bottle. The struggle for me has always been finding the right products for a twist out. As a result, I've been reading tons of reviews on various products and lines that would give me a good twist out. Part of me would like to be able to get most of my products on the ground -- at least, moisturizers/stylers. I don't see myself giving up my Naturelle Grow DCs or even the Darcy's Pumpkin seed.

I hesitantly bought the shea moisture curling milk and soufflé and washed my hair and used both products. I LOVEDDDD how they both melted into my hair! I was SHOCKED! I thought it would just sit on the surface and do nothing. I've been bad mouthing shea moisture like crazy LOL ! The next day my twist out was SOOOOOOOO soft, moisturized, and defined w/o that crunchy gel feel to it. I know my hair will look good once summer passes the humidity subsides. For now, with the humidity I understand my hair will swell more than usual. My goal is to have 2 product lines I can alternate that I can get on the ground. The next line I'll try to work with is TGIN. I have the butter moisturizer and it's ok so far. I have to give it more of a chance. I LOVE their oil. The butter cream felt awesome on my hair but as the days went on my hair felt kinda dry and my twists frizzed out. But I did like how my hair looked and felt the day after. Again, it's summer time so my hair behaves a little differently. I think I'm going to try the TGIN twist n define cream and see how that works with the line. I didn't get a chance to try their poo and conditioner as yet, but I did try their leave in and I really like that.

Hit!
Neem Oil, I have been using it for scalp oiling and massaging nightly and I am in love. I keep it in the refrigerator and apply it after my evening shower to my scalp, hairline, and nape! So cooling and soothing. I will continue this routine.

Miss!
Lotta Body Edge Control , an itchy, dry mess. My hair line is like WHOA even still after wash day, it has never been so dry before. I actually had flakes from it. No ma'am!

Hits:
Kinky-Curly Knot Today/Curling Custard - I revisit these two every so often and though they never disappoint (super soft hair, fabulous curl definition, and oh the shine), for some reason I've always returned them to my stash. Not sure why I have a love/hate relationship with this duo, but I think I'll co-wash/style with these for a while.

Ok, so I recant my thoughts about TGIN being a potential line to use that I can get on the ground. I really like their oil and will continue to purchase to that. I tried the poo and conditioner yesterday and didn't like it. The poo felt kinda weird going on and the conditioner didn't do anything. I washed my paul Mitchel tea tree and started over.

I did buy the Eco styler cocktail and I liked how it played well with my APB creamy pudding. It's a VERY light product and today my twist out looks good and feels good. We'll see how it holds up to humidity. I'm glad I have another styler I can get on the ground -- Eco Styler cocktail. We'll see how my hair feels as the days go on. I must really say APB never ever ever disappoints me.
