I am a 3c natural with verydefined curls. I go wash every night and put some type of oil on my hair and sleep in a plastic cap. In the morning the oil is gone. Sometimes I don't even rinse the oil out I just go. Should my hair absorb do much oil? Does it mean my hair is lacking something. It is concerning me because o put a lot of oil I mean a lot and it is all absorbed. Please help with your opinions

@HopefulOne what type of oils do you use? I dont have much to add as I don't know if it is a positive or negative result but I wouldn't be concerned as long as the hair isn't showing signs of damage.

When you wake up in the morning is your hair dry or look weto but a little greasy/oily? I would think if dry you need to add a sealant (butter/cream) afterwards. If looks wet with a little greasy/oily then your hair is moisturized.

It is odd if your hair absorbs overnight a ton of oil with a plastic cap on. Are you experiencing breakage or shedding?

I have 3C hair too & I don't experience that at all. Is your hair fine or thick?

My hair does this with light oils (no cap) whenever I pre-poo overnight or M&S. This sounds more like a porosity and dryness thing then hair texture. I wouldn't be worried. My hair been's doing this since I've been natural. I like that I'm able to lubricate my ends with tons of oil for buns and updos and not having heavy/oily hair when I wear an "out" style the next day.

It is little oily which rinses right out and sometime I don't even rinse it out. My looks shiny and moisturized when I appmy gel and style. It looks okay but I don't want to heading toward a setback if this something negative

What products are you using? Because oil on its own isn't a leave-in/moisturizer.
I use conditioner under the oil as a moisturizer. It hasn't been a bad thing because my curls are ahony and bouncy I just wonder why hair absorbs so much oil daily

Thank you to every one who replied, I will keep using the oil until I notice a problem.

Maybe it's because you wash all the oil out of your hair by washing your hair every night so the oil you apply is just replacing the oil you washed out??
