Sulfur Mix/oil Mix 2016 Challenge

HairPleezeGrow

Hello Ladies,

It's about that time to oil our scalps whether it's a sulphur based oil or regular oils you have.

The Rules

1. Use any sulphur based growth aid or regular oil at least three times a week and massage into the scalp for 3 mins and then if you'd like baggy/GHE

2. Exercise AND eat well. Exercising increases blood flow to the scalp which in turn stimulates hair growth. But if there isn't the right mix of nutrients in the blood hair will not grow well. Therefore it is essential to do both

3. Keep your scalp clean to guarantee maximum effectiveness, whether that be by co washing or shampooing. Product build up will hinder your results.

I've been an on again, off again raw vegan for 18 months now. I'd like to not fall off the wagon again. Use my rebounder at least 4x a week. Invert one week a month and I'll be using my sulfur 8 and jbco mixture, so plan on clarifying and deep conditioning 2x a month, and water rinsing weekly.

Hmm, I think I may want to join this challenge since I'm using JBCO already and will be adding 2% MN when it arrives next week. I'll decide by the end of the week - either way, marking my spot if I am joining.

So does it work and has it lived up to yoir expectations?
I think my hair grew about an inch between September 30 and Oct 30. I measured my roots on a strand of shed hair. My next length check on straight hair will be next month. I'm so anxious to see how much it has grown.

I use it twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Wednesdays and Fridays I use mn and peppermint oil (smells a lot better than LG).

I'm looking forward to washing my hair Sunday morning. Saturday through Monday I let my scalp breathe and I apply my growth aids Tuesday through Friday.

I believe my MN that I ordered online should be here mid to late next week so I'll start something by then. My lavender jbco is already here waiting so I can add MN to it.

I don't care for sulfur in my hair (it smells awful) so I will take that one internally using MSM daily - night and day to get a good dose of it in.

Unless of course there is a pre-made sulfur mix that does not have that nasty sulfur smell to it. If there is, can someone share with me please? Thanks in advance.

@MileHighDiva, have you or anyone else here tried the other fragrances like the vanilla and the Hawaiian Plumeria? I like Vanilla a lot but I'd like to know if it smells wonderful or not. Thanks in advance.

ETA: Oh nevermind about the vanilla, lol. I still want to know about the HP scent though

Oh yeah, I'm joining. I'll be oiling my scalp using Pomade Shop Peppermint Pomade every other day . I have a huge 8oz. jar to use up. I might use just a little NJoy oil in between. Not sure...not a fan of the scent like that. Doesnt' stink, but after a while I can smell the sulfur.

Post a starting pic: Starting pic is my avatar.

Tell us your starting length: about 11 inches throughout my hair (BSB)

Tell us your goal length: MBL (2016) by next year. I want to grow/retain three inches by this time next year. This will put my at 14"/MBL.

State if your natural or relaxed or anything in between: Natural

Tell us what you are going to do to maintain all the length you gain: Protective style in twists and updos like I always do.

@Aggie the Hawwaiian Plumeria smells very nice....just like flowers. It's a stronger scent imo, whereas the vanilla is light. I have a huge jar of the peppermint pomade in regular peppermint scent that I will be using for this challenge. I am not sure if I want to use the NJoy oil, even though I had good results with it when she first came out with it a couple years ago. The smell is bearable with her oil...but after a while I can still smell it. I want to go to bed w/my man smelling nice...not slightly funky or funny. :look:
