Hit: Brushing

My scalp really appreciates it. I'll only be able to do it for about the next few weeks or so til more new growth comes in (I just got a relaxer - the brush can actually get to my scalp) but it feels so nice. I've done it once a day, for a few minutes, since my relaxer and it really feels nice.

Mega hits:

- ORS No-Lye Relaxer Normal

When your hair dresser compliments you post service on the relaxer you picked out, you have a winner  My hair is strong, really straight and soft but has a lot of body. I didn't want to do a review until after the first wash because I get to see how it really performed (without all the salon styling tricks) and I really, really like it. It'll be my staple relaxer. No burning and my hair dresser said it was a really good relaxer. Accessible everywhere so I know exactly what's going into my head and it's a good price.

- Joico Moisture Recovery Balm

Already a hit from last month but I used this for my first wash post-relaxer and it's the only deep conditioner in recent memory that didn't clump up my hair. I don't know what it is... usually my first conditioning post relaxer doesn't go so well but this even has protein in it and my hair feels glamorous.

- Starting off the year with a new cut

Not the cut I wanted but I have healthy hair all around, no breakage and a chance to really take care of my hair and pay attention from the very start. I haven't been able to do this in years... I always wanted to keep some length and was willing to deal with unhealthy ends and extra work. Glad to start fresh and I have a simple regimen to maintain it.
