Laser Light Therapy...anyone????

Back in the 70's my mother went to hair specialist for laser light therapy and swore up and down it thickened her naturally (and tragically) thin hair.

I recently purchased an iRestore light therapy helmet for home use to treat my naturally (and tragically) thinning hair. My hair is denser than my mother's, but also kinkier. It looks fine when natural, but when straightened it's another story.

I'm only on my 2nd night using this thing.

Has anyone else tried laser light therapy and, if so, what were your results?

They say it takes about 4 months to see any results, so I have to wait until October to see if this thing is a miracle worker of just a really expensive hard hat.

What say you?

Hello,
I bought the Igrow. It has been over 6 months and just started to notice that it may be helpful. I am using in conjunction with PRP, minoxidil, and Max hair vitamins. I was discouraged at first but it took about 6 months to see an improvement to my hairline and temples. I was about to think it was an expensive mistake. My PRP doc seemed to think it would be helpful, so I continued with the Igrow. I am glad I did. depending on the severity of hair loss it can take up to 18 months to see significant results. Hope this helps.

I purchase the Hair Max which is similar but I have not been using it regularly simply because it is a hand held device and my arms get tired. I looked at the Igrow but that is even more expensive. I still want to try the PRP first.

This is great to know and very encouraging!!! I was feeling a little annoyed earlier about having to do the treatment, but I will keep it up after hearing of your progress.

This is exactly why I plunked down all that change for the iRestore. I knew I wouldn't be able to hold something for any length of time. I already hate any kind of routine as is. lol

Hello ladies,
I'm back with my 16 week update. Do I have a thick crown of waist length curly locks???
Welp, nope. But I do have some new temple hair! Before I started on the iRestore, my temples were completely white and sparse, especially my left one. When I hennaed a few weeks ago, they became completely red. Today I noticed something strange. New, curly DARK hair growing betwix the white/red hairs! My hair has been receding for the longest time and it doesn't help I have one of those Tyra Bank five heads, but I swear, this hair line is filling in.
In conjunction with the iRestore helmet, I also take Viviscal (but switched up last month to try out the Mane Choice), multivitamins, calcium, vit C, iron; I rub my scalp with Newurks 21 somethingorother and recently upped my protein intake and started working out again. I've done all those things before which helped promote hair growth, but I can say with great certaintly it was the iRestore that brought life back to my temples. I'm going to give it another 2 months and check the progress, then I'll see it I can string some photos together for comparison.

The iRestore ppl are also sending me out their hair growth formula supplements. I will definitely take photos before and after once the arrive.

All in all, I'm a little excited. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the fact that my new hair is growing in dark is amazing to me. I am a believer. lol

Hello. My suggestion is to keep using. I saw results about six months in. I stopped using for 2 mos and shedding started again. I am now using again and extreme shedding stopped. I use Max Hair vitamins and get PRP every 3 months. I use Minoxidil 7% with progesterone that my PRP doctor prepares
My hairline is growing in nicely. Hope this info helps.

Any updates? I'm considering getting a cap.
At the end of September I went to see a new dermatologist for my hair lost. She was well recommended from an FB group. I waited a year for an appointment she recommended red light therapy. I decided to get one because I was already looking into it. I got the teradome off eBay because I didn’t want to spend all that money for a new unit.

anyway, I’ve been doing red light treatment 3X a week and 5% minoxidil. My hair density has increased a lot! I know I can definitely attribute that to the minoxidil. I’m not sure how much to attribute to the red light therapy. My hope is to cut minoxidil to once a week and keep using the red light. I already cut minoxidil to 3 times a week because hair is growing everywhere.

ETA: My hair got really thin. I even had a couple of bald spot. The hair on my edges were miniaturizing. Every growth oil I used were growing my hair but the shedding continued and new hair were not growing. I felt like I was experiencing male pattern baldness
