My Results From 2 Months Of Using Rogaine Foam

I noticed my hair at the crown was thinning quite badly after I big chopped the second time in 2011. I tried using things like castor oil and rosemary essential oil to fix the problem but it persisted and even got worse as time went on.

I have a family history or crown thinning and knew this needed some type of serious intervention but didn't know which route to go. I thought of using rogaine but couldn't find any real results of women who used it for some time.

I wasn't expecting much but decided I'd give it a try before doing something like spending lots of money on derms.

It's been a little over 2 months since I started using it(10/01) and am AMAZED at the results so far.

Here is a pic one day before I started using it

Here it is today at 2 months and 2 wks of using rogaine foam for women once a day

Great recovery! Stick with it. I've been using men's rogaine for years for similar reasons. It works very well, but you must use it forever lest you lose all progress.
I will totally keep it up. Yeah the fact that you have to use it for life is the only real downside of it but with the progress my hair is making I could see it being totally filled in within 6 months from my start date. That's really exciting. I thought I wouldn't even begin seeing results til 3-6 months from my start but it's progressing really fast.

I just got some today! I’m excited to try it! I hope I some great results like yours!
I'm exited for you!! It takes a min to get use to applying it but I know you'll have great results. I think how I apply it is just as important to the results though. I part my hair down the middle like they say but instead of just putting the product on a couple of parts per side I do it like grease. Applying and rubbing it in until the whole area is covered. Because of that I use twice the amount they say and I put the rogaine in the cap instead of on a dish like they say.

Please keep me updated on how it goes.

Thank you! Should I wash my face and neck after I apply? I wasn’t messy last night, I applied how you described. I have so many different spots throughout my hair. I washed my hands really good.

I actually wouldn't wash my face after applying because if you put it on your edges like I do it will end up being rubbed on your face as you rinse. I don't wash my face until at least 4 hrs after applying. Also you may want to apply it at least 4 hrs before going to bed so it doesn't transfer on your pillow.

Are you going through anything stressful right now? My niece and friend get bald spots when their stressed all throughout their hair but especially the back.

What did you buy the foam or the solution? With the foam I just apply to the areas then thoroughly wash my hands and the cap after and wait 4 hrs for it to dry before doing anything that might cause transfer.

I got the foam. I have CCCA, and used a product that caused severe irritation to my scalp. I did apply it and waited for it to dry a few hours before I put my scarf on.

your progess looks great.
Were your prescribed it or is it over the counter?

I read that for CCCA you only need it to wake up the follicles so to speak, and then afterwards you can stop using it. But I've also read that once you start with rogaine you should keep it up.

What do you think?
Thanks! I got it over the counter. I've actually never been to a doc about it.

I don't know much about ccca but for the type of alopecia I have I would need to use it for the rest of my life. I will say though that I've gone a wk if not longer without using it at times and had no issue at all. I think with the foam in particular you can just fit it into your schedule when you can once you have full regrowth. It takes time for the hair to fall out so if you miss a few days it's no issue but I fully intend to continue using it unless pregnant.

I dont get/experience dryness because I always keep my hairline, hair (locs) and scalp moisturized. I spritz with a water mixture, massage with emu oil as well as the rogaine. I would never just use that rogaine alone.
You do all of this when you apply it? I apply it at night, and m&s in the morning. But can I moisturize and seal during the application?

I have been using rogaine for many years now so I only need to do it at night. Prior to applying it, I massage my hairline (which is the only place I use rogaine) lightly with emu oil. I wait about 15 minutes then apply the rogaine foam there. I tend to spritz my hair and hairline in the mornings and at night as well. So while everything is not done in the same moments they are done daily often within minutes of each other.

In the morning, I spritz as usual and massage my hairline with emu oil. Doing things in this way, plus all the other 50/11 things Ive been doing for years has kept my entire scalp skin healthy and moisturized. I dont experience flakes or dryness or anything like that.

My faves are actually emu oil and jojoba oil. I wouldnt use any other type.

I started incorporating emu oil when I read on a website (many years ago) that it worked very well with rogaine.
