New Eco Styler Gold Gel

My mom bought this this past weekend and loves it! She/we have really fine, cottony hair. She's also going though a little bit of thinning because she refuses to stop coloring her hair and she wears it straight for the most part. She sent me pictures of her hair and it looked so full and soft! Next time I see her, we're gonna play around with it some more (she rarely wears her hair in a straight "natural" as her generation calls it).

Where did she purchase it?

But seriously, for anyone already using shea butter, castor oil, etc. - is there someone at Eco-Styler following hair care social media who wants to simplify regimens by shoving all the products we use into one jar?

It's amazing how corporations eavesdrop on Black-women focused social media sites, take notes and then capitalize off it. I see this with the t-shirt businesses on Etsy and of course with the hair industry.

Thank you !!!!! I wish they would make protein feee versions. Breaks my hair off every time.
Yes! Ecostyler caused so much dryness and breakage. I was applying it everyday when I had my faded Mohawk. I was cowashing and washing, but I ended up with protein overload using it.
I found that with applying you also have to Moisturize 1st... Like add oil and/or moisturizer then gel... I mean every time... :lachen:
Usually your hair turns into straight hair, well at least for me, and dont let it be on wet hair, peps think I have a perm... Albeit hair pattern does loosen... I wear mostly ponytails so front area is straight, less curl than back areas! :perplexed:

I want this but will wait

I'm sure it's not just black based social media. You can go on youtube and find these things out. We've been promoting shea butter, flaxseed gel, black castor oil for hair on that platform for years. Anybody can come to the conclusion of what we like based on that. Eco Styler is one brand I will say that is taking good notes though.

It’s just too much protein for me. I was using a moisturizer under it too. It’s right up there with prostyle gel for me.

I picked up a bottle from my local Sally's this weekend and have an initial review:

I'm not sure how I feel about the final results but I really liked the slip of the gel. I was able to effortlessly detangle my hair and shingle with the gel. The application went very fast. However, the hold is not strong, it created a lot of frizz as i worked it in to define my curls. The more gel I added the more the clumped curls would frizz. It did dry less frizzy than I expected which was really weird.

I paired the gel with Alikay Naturals lemongrass leave in since the texture of the gel was so light I didn't think it could hold a heavier leave in. My hair dried crunchy not soft at all.
I'm going to try again Wednesday night with a different leave in. Not sure which one yet.

My dry results below. I also notice product build up but that could be due to applying too much gel trying to fight the frizz. It got worse the more I used.
