People look like slobs coming to mass, especially in the summer. I think the church needs to institute a dress code like the high churches in Europe: no bare shoulders/arms, no shorts, no short skirts/dresses. At mass yesterday, the cantor's dress was inappropriately short. If the cantor doesn't have a clue, how can we expect the faithful to? I wanted to say something but these days, you can't say anything to anybody without getting cursed out. :look:
They probably wont institute it because it will mess with their money from the faithful. Sad to say.

In  with midi dresses! Looking forward to further curating my style as I enter my mid 30s :yep:.

1. Lil bro's wedding
2. Graduation outfit (ordered it before my results were actually in ;))
3. Headed to an Angolan party that turned out to be all kinds of boring:non:

Love your style, @Maracujá ! That entire look in pic #1 is my favorite... just lovely...

So nice of you to say, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside lol. It's really a work in progress, it reminds me of my natural hair journey: it will take time, but I want to really graft it to my whole being so that style becomes effortless for me:yep:.

Ahhh, yes a Fashion Journey... :yep:
I'm adjusting mine to a different look, but yes it takes time, like with hair. I've always admired your hair. I'm in wig world of late..lol
Have a blessed Sunday!

Is anyone doing a modest capsule wardrobe? And if so what are your basic pieces?

Well, I sorta kinda am but the way my shopping addiction is set up though :look:. Made a list of what I need for each season: took an inventory of what I already have and turns out I don't have enough skirts/trousers. So right now I'm focused on that, whenever I'm out shopping, I buy skirts and/trousers first.

Some people are very strict in this, like Jennifer L. Scott from YouTube, she only has 10 pieces per season. Not sure if I'll go that extreme, I doubt it. My basic pieces for this summer are maxi dresses/skirts, sheath blouses, slacks, tunics + head wraps. Just mixing and matching everything truly helps, this is what I wore today:

I love your skirt!

Right now I’m trying to figure out what pieces in my wordrobe need to be replaced. I replaced my skinny jeans with a boyfriend cut jean. To me they are more modest than the skinny cut jean. I plan to pair the jeans with long shirts.

I also want to add more skirts and dresses to my rotation but I’m not sure what styles I feel most comfortable in. I want them to cover my knees but that is about it. I am going to have to do some shopping before I figure out my new style. Then I will figure out how many pieces I need.

I wear dresses and long skirts with blazers or bolero knit jackets. I tend to buy classic pieces in 2s or 4s (different colors).. I tend to go classic since the pieces never go out of style lol

Hi QT,

The look is courtesy of StylePantry but the guilded belt isn't available on Aq/Aq, as mentioned. The pants are sold out.. lol

I did find similar belts on Showpo. and ASOS . I really like that look!

ETA: the ASOS belt is the same one as the AqAq

This is a perfect work outfit, where can I get this belt??? Any ideas?

Would you wear this outfit in the Fall? I hear Yellow is the colour du jour this Fall...

I like the cut of the pants but not the color. I look horrible in yellow.

I have a question. Where are you ladies getting camisoles that are high enough to actually give coverage in low cut tops? All the camis I have found barely cover the girls so they can’t be used to make low cut tops more modest.

Has anyone had to explain to a friend or relative their change in style yet? My mom wants me to wear some dresses she has picked out for me that I feel are too short or have too high of a split. She isn’t too keen on the concept of modesty right now and I don’t want to make waves. Any suggestions?

Try express.com they have camis with lace on top row you have to search they don’t always have them. There’s also a bra the has a high cleavahe with lace built in you cools search for them.
