2018 2019 Pre Poo Challenge

Maracujá

November 2020 --> 14 years natural!!!
Count me in! Below is what I'm using:

The product on the far left is the pre poo and is the one I currently use...but...I would like to bump up to the one geared specifically towards Black women, as someone advised me here. But for now I'll just use this one up.

It's my third time using it, along with the exfoliating scalp mask on the far right. So far, so OK. The aim is to be consistent so that I can obtain the best result. Also took the time to trim my ends this time around. Always got great results using The Body Shop's Brazil Nut pre poo back in the days, hope to obtain the same results this time around.

I'm in!!!
Normally I use a homemade hair mayo consisting of Eggs, EVOO, ACV, tea tree, and honey or molasses (whichever one I have on hand).

In a pinch or if I’m washing my hair while out of town I will just use EVOO.

I would like to try The Mane Choice Pre-poo, since I tend to like a lot of her other products.

For me pre-pooing is a must. I’m not the type of person that does one long detangling session. I detangle throughout my wash regimen and pre-pooing is the 1st line of defense to assist with detangling. I normally pre-poo overnight, but in a crunch, I will pre-poo an hour or two before washing.

Pre-pooing does 4 things for me:

1. Detangles

2. Strengthens

3. Prevents hygral fatigue

4. Removes that 1st layer of dirt allowing my cleanser to work more effectively

I use to be a prepooer but stopped a long time ago because I thought there was no need. This past wash I did a prepoo with coconut oil simply because I wanted to detangle b4 washing and there was a bit of gel on my hair that I wanted to soften up to detangle without causing damage. I actually really loved the results. It's inspired me to do it b4 every wash but I really want an herb oil to treat my scalp as well so I'm going to order some herbs from mountain rose next month and make a homemade herbal oil for my specific hair and scalp needs.

BN's Mangomint Detoxifying Conditioner (a little too thin/runny for a Pre-Poo Rx) had to wrap my head really well. *womp womp*:ohwell:

Will continue to use this as a Conditioner, which is what it is and works great for that....

I used Mane Choice Heavenly Halo yesterday. I know I shouldn't but I did keep it in all day before shampooing out. My hair was feeling dry and I just needed a big moisture boost, this product is it. I won't leave it in my hair all day on a regular basis though, only occasionally. My hair is so soft and feels beautifully moisturised.

I'll have to ensure I always I have this, I cannot run out!!

May have been me, yes the Elasticizer Extreme is much better, the whole extreme range is quite good. I like his scalp products too.

Can I join? After reading more about the science of black hair, I think its in my best interest to do an oil prepoo before every wash. I Prepooed overnight with coconut oil last wash and while my hair felt a bit strengthened, it left my hair feeling icky and hard to detangle. Maybe I left it on too long?

So yesterday, I prepooed with avocado/evoo oil. I only left it on for 5 hours but my hair still didn't feel as moisturized and smooth as it did when I used Chicoro's prepoo method or when I used a diy oil recipe.
