Ladies: I Finally Found My Holy Grail Salon (yes, Pics Included)!!!

Chicoro

5 Year Shea Anniversary: Started Dec 16th, 2016!
@Chicoro , thank you:love:! You are absolutely one of my favorite posters on this board, you have taught me so much over the years--thank you for your kind words.:urock:

My routine is simple, every four weeks, wash, detangle, hair in cornrows, underneath a wig. In that photo, my ends were freshly trimmed. As of late, my ends are trimmed about 3 times, a year. At the Salon, they only trim on freshly silked hair, which will equate to 3-4 times for most clients. What was disappointing but good to see--was how early in my transition to natural, I protective styled with weaves--you could clearly see the difference in this hair versus the hair protective styled with wigs. Although, I adore a beautiful weave, I am now convinced wigs are the way to continue forward on my journey.

You mentioned that you always wanted to be a Feature of the Month. Well, you are DEFINITELY a Feature of the Month in MY EYES!

So, um, you got any pictures of how your hair looks braided and any photos with your wigs? I love the your hair in this thread!

Your hair is so breathtakingly pretty @miss_a. I am glad you found a great salon for your hair care. It's always wonderful when this happens because great stylists are so few and far between.

Looong story. I've been around but in the entertainment area usually. And I'm recovering from some health stuff but I'm in good spirits as always! Now I know where you've been. I've just been in the wrong place  . :bighug:Hugs back !
Okay hon. I pray that you get better health wise and hope to see you around more often. Maybe I should stalk those other areas on the board a bit more. The only problem is I have no interest in celebrities like most people do. Some interest me but at least 99% of them don't.

@Chicoro, awwww---THANK YOU for your lovely compliment. I truly adore the members of this hair board.

Sadly, I do not have any photos with my hair braided. Next time, I will have to remember to ask her to take a photo to capture my braided style. Typically, my hair is braided in a beehive; however, this time my hair was braided, using my own hair, in 10 feed-in cornrows.

Just wanted to let everyone know that this salon is going on a 10 city tour if anyone is interesting in going.

I sooo admire her skills, her work ethic, and her hustle! She's the ultimate entrepreneur. And I'm just addicted to her instagram accounts (@hergrowinghands and @the_growth_guru).

It's great that she's doing this tour. She's coming to my city and I got a preliminary booking email. I would love to go, but the $550 tab is giving me serious pause...

I tried my Juices and Berries (J&B) box/products last wash day. The packaging, presentation, and containers are beautiful! The products all smell like the Bergamot Grove room spray that I buy from Williams Sonom@ here's a link.

Here's my thoughts on the products:

The Juice Cleanse- it works, but nothing trumps or outperforms the the As I @m Cleansing Pudding for me, regarding co-washes.

The Juice Spray- I love it! My hair loves sodium pca and silk amino acids. This spray is the star of the line, so far.

The Quench Cream- I don't like it...it's not a cream, but a leave in. It doesn't have any emollient-cy. Also, it's only four (4) ounces.

The Drip- this is a nice oil!

It took a couple of days for the fragrance to dissipate.

I just took down one braid and my hair does feel the way it should. This is my fault, I should have layered and sealed everything in with a butter or some grease.

She is supposed to be launching some more products, but they're delayed due to the pandemic.

The previous products will probably work better for me when she releases a butter cream, butter, and/or grease with the same fragrance profile to seal with. Keep in mind I'm a heavy sealer and keep my hair lubbed to the GAWDS.
