HITS:

Ayurveda tea rinses and Herbal tea rinse - what took me so long to really start these and actually continue with them. My hair is feeling pretty strong and resilient too. Certainly not as much hair shedding as usual. Thankfully I have quite a bit to use up before I run out.

Aloe Vera juice and water on my natural hair, it was horrible for my released hair so glad I revisited trying it

Paul Mitchell the detangler leave in condioner, works great when blow drying hair
When do you use the aloe Vera/water combo on your hair?

HIT:
DC with greek yogurt. It was life changing.

Still not sure:
Giovanni Direct. Am I the only one who uses a drop of this and suddenly it's as if I poured 5 bottles of conditioner on my hair? It kind of like suds up and then soaks my entire head. It's sooo weird, but my curls popped like crazy.
Do you just use plain Greek yogurt? What brand did you buy? And how long did you leave it on?

It was Chobani Non-Fat Greek Yogurt (I use this to cook too, otherwise I would have used whole fat for all the nutrients). I mixed it with a blend of ayurvedic herbs (specifically Faerie Dust from Nightblooming on Etsy). I left it on with a plastic cap + hot head for about an hour. I followed with a quick rinse of a moisturizing conditioner afterwards since it is a protein treatment. HTH.

MISS:
Cantu Curl Cream

Words can't even describe how much I hate this stuff. I've known this for awhile, and sometimes that jar keeps popping back up, paired with a YouTube tutorial that uses it, and I say 'I guess I'll give it another shot'. No. My hair immediately shrivels back into itself like it's trying to run away from the cream, becomes a crispy knotty mess and there's literally nothing I can do with it until I shampoo it - which I must do immediately because the smell of baby vomit coconut will eventually kill me.

*takes a deep breath*

It's in the trash now. I can't hurt me anymore.

MY OFFICIAL OLAPLEX UPDATE - ALL HITS:

I skipped my Olaplex step 3 today since steps 1 and 2 were enough for now. I will try to remember to use step 3 during my next wash day.

By the way, that step #4 (shampoo) is the business.

It really is very concentrated, smells wonderful and cleaned my hair while maintaining softness. It's a hit and a keeper for sure.

Now as for step #5 - the rinse out conditioner):

My take on this one is that it did it's job as a rinse out, ie., strengthens and moisturizes. However, I believe it is the perfect conditioner for oilier hair types. If it had more slip than it did for our African American hair, it would not be suitable for oily hair.

So in my honest opinion, it was a perfect medium for both oily and dry hair. Now mind you, it did not leave my hair hard or dry. On the contrary, it had just enough moisture and just enough strengthening properties. So I would even go so far as to call it a balancing conditioner.

It is a hit for my hair. I just wished it came in 16 or 32 oz bottles because I can go through that 8 oz bottle with 3-4 washes alone. I will use it sparingly as best I can and try to get about 6 rinses out of it instead.

Castor oil blends. Immediately the hair closest to my scalp is silky soft. I’ve been using an olive oil Blend for almost three weeks and while my hair has had a sheen it feels nothing like what it does after two days of Sunny Isle Pimento JBCO.
My hair feels the same way after using jbco @shawnyblazes. I mixed it with my scalp drops so I don't have to add to twice the work.

Today I also added a little of my coffee oil to it. It really softens my strands - makes me want to keep touching it.

Hit

African Pride Preshampoo, slippery and very detangling. When I shampoo'd my hair retained some of the moisture

Miss

Soultanicals Carrot Shampoo Vitamin Hair dew, its watery. So, I used more than I should have. I would like it better if it was creamier.

Mane Krush Mane Tamer, it was gritty. I emulsified it in my hands as much as possible but it felt gritty going on. It did however sink in eventually. I'll try it on dry hair eventually but it is not a repurchase

Neither a hit nor a miss

Soultanicals Chebe Ginger Deep conditioner

It was okay, nothing stellar. I'll try it again with heat and see if It makes a difference .

Hits: Using Curls Blueberry Leave in Conditioner and sealing with Kreyol Essence Haitian Black Castor Oil. I really like that it comes with a dropper, but I hate that it’s :censored:$17 plus tax

Maybe Hit: these curly twists and using the Curls Passion Fruit Paste as an comb through edge control for the parts.
