If You Could Go Back In Time.....

I'm easy going.
What hair products would you stock up and save for the future you before it was too late, before the ingredients were screwed up, or discontinued?! How many bottles would you buy in preparation for the famine? (I'm so redundant.)

I'll go first *sniffle*. If I could go back I would stock up on the original Wild Growth Hair Oil and the original Mega Tek. I wish so badly I would have thought of this in 2008:bricks::deadhorse:I would have purchased 15 bottles of wgho and 10 mega teks.

I would have loved to get my hands on that.

-Wetline Xtreme Gel - the formula change really busted my chops and made me very mad. I would have stocked up on the largest available jars - 35 oz since they were so cheap - I would have to enter my house sideways because of the amount I would have had in there. Picture this - Immense shine, softness, , manageability, definition for days with no crunchiness. Need I say more?

-Surge 14 - now that growth serum was the bizness. It left my scalp super tingly and invigorated and full of life. My follicles were in love with this one. Xcel 21 does not even come close.

-Already honorably mentioned - Creme of Nature Detangling Shampoo (green label). Wow, I really miss this one so much. I had a few bottles but wished I had more. My hair responded so well to this shampoo. Talk about soft, very manageable hair. My natural hair would be swimming in love, joy and happiness.

Cream of Nature white liter bottles with 1-green writing, 2-red writing, 3-purple writing. They were my perfect trio. There was an amazing detangling Shampoo, a very luxurious rinsebout conditioner that was legit good enough to deep condition with, and an amazing reconstructor which (with regular use) would put all those fancy protein treatments and repair masks to shame. An ounce of prevention right?
I’d have bought 2 boxes of each and never needed anything but the odd styler here and there. :cry3:

Wet Line Xtreme Gel. I already have a huge stash but I know I will eventually run out :cry3: and what will I do then? I should try the new formula maybe it'll work for me?

Design Essentials Defining Creme Gel, the original formula. I emailed a huge number of retailers in different continents and somehow none of them had anything but the new formula in stock. I really hate the company for changing this.

Real talk, when I heard about the Wetline change (even though I never use gel) I was tempted to go to my local DUSTY Asian HOOD hair shop to buy up the rest of the old ones and give them away to LHCF members, but i work so hard (violen plays) and laziness got the best of me with overtime and all. I'm sorry.

Creme of Nature Ultra Detangling Shampoo - why would they take it away ?

Surge 14 - the growth i had with this and retention.

Emergency 911 leave in - I'll pay top dollar to get another bottle. My hair was smooth, detangled, shiny and just gorgeous after this.

Surely there's at least one warehouse with a crate load of these discountinued products just sitting there. Surely!

Aubrey Organics conditioners: GPB, Honeysuckle Rose, White Camellia, JAY, Rosa Masqueta. Old formulas were MAGICAL

Taliah Waajid protective bodifier mist- formula changed once she got in major retail stores. Don’t know how the new formula is

Elucence relaxers- they’ve been discontinued. They were the BEST relaxers I ever used. I texlaxed with them & my hair was the longest & in the best shape it had ever been.

Giovanni conditioners that had the leaves on the bottles & not the dots. The new formulas are decent, but the old ones were magical

I thought I was the only one who remembered the purple Creme of Nature product. I miss it so much and it's been like 10 years now.

It was so, SO great! The purple cream of nature was a reconstructor. It was the type of preventative maintenance that wouldn’t require anything else if you kept up with it. A little lasted forever too. I only went through 2 bottles a year.

Greasy hair moisturizers ( Jheri curl products) that contained mineral oil. Although I didn't pay attention to ingredients I read an article that explained why people were able to use glycerin products in cold weather and retained length....the author said it was because the products at that time were mainly glycerin and mineral oil and that the formulas have since changed.

This is where I read the article and a light bulb went off in my head:

The original Motions CPR that came in the container where you had to scoop it out. It was so thick! My hair loved that stuff! I used it even before I became a member here.

Now the so-called liquidy watered down version of Motions CPR comes in a regular squeeze bottle. Nothing like the original.

I should've bought up every jar I could find while it was still available. :(

The original pantene relaxed and natural line. I think they rebranded it and I haven't used it since. But back in the day I loved that stuff.

Yes to this. My fave products were the Wrap Lotion Spray and the deep conditioner. I stocked up on them when they were discontinued but my stash only lasted about 18 months.

Also the Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave-In. Loved that stuff to death and worked year round on my hair. I only bought 2 bottle when it was being phased out.
