What length are you now? Sides are collar bone length when completely stretched. The back isn't even neck length. I'm growing out an undercut. I made it way too high.

What's your regimen?
It's currently being revamped. I'm going to be a blow dried natural in 2019. I'll wash my hair once every 4-6 weeks. I'm not sure which moisturizer I'm going to use to keep my hair from reverting so I'll have to experiment with glycerin free moisturizers. I'm still going to seal with melted Shea butter. Hopefully, by keeping my hair stretched, I'll be able to wear it out more instead of always hiding underneath a hat in celie plats.

What do you need to do/change to reach APL? My current regimen of s curl and shea butter on individual braids isn't broken. It helped me reach APL the first time. I'm just sick of looking like someone's granny so I'm going to heat stretch with the revair.

What month do you expect to reach your goal? I highly doubt I'll reach APL in the back by the end of 2019. That normally takes 2 years for my snail pace growing hair. The sides may reach APL by June 2019.

Post your starting pic.
***Post a pick of the areas NOT APL***

After 4 years of being natural, I am going back to a relaxer in 2019. Since I will be relearning my hair, I want to use this thread as accountability.

What length are you now? A little past shoulder length when stretched; will know for sure once I relax since I haven't straighten my natural hair in about 2 years

What's your regimen? Wash every other week; DC/co-wash weekly; moisturize/seal daily. Going to try to limit heat as much as possible

What do you need to do/change to reach APL? Protective styles; continue to do everything in sections

What month do you expect to reach your goal? Aiming for July 2019 pending how things go with me being relaxed again

Starting pic: I will come back and add this once I relax on Friday

Cowashed with some APB Pumpkin DC and Banyan Botanicals Bhringraj Oil mixture - (this is a major hit by the way) and final rinsed with my diy herbal tea rinse - left in the latter.

I really like the shine of my hair at the moment. I am about to massage some Castor Argan drops (used for growth) on my scalp and head to bed.

I had to attend a funeral and then I was traveling and got sick on New Year's. I do have the pics and will have my info up by end of day Friday.
Ok it's just a reminder. Do it when you can. Hope your feeling better.

IMG_6094.PNG What length are you now? Shoulder Length

What's your regimen? Unfortunately I don't have a consistent one. I'd like to start going to the shop to get my hair done because I don't want to do it myself anymore

What do you need to do/change to reach APL? Take better care of my hair. Baby my ends. Scalp massages. Take my vitamins

What month do you expect to reach your goal? If i'm consistent with my vitamins I can get there in about 4 months.

What length are you now?
my hair looks the same length as sunkissedlife does. i think i'll call this "shoulder length with APL promises"

What's your regimen?
keeping it cornrowed under my wig. i try to moisturize with water and seal with oil daily or i spray on scurl.
i try to baggy every other night.
i shampoo and/or acv rince when it gets stinky or my scalp flakes.
i like to use cholesterol as a protein conditioner every few months and moisture dc with heat after a shampoo

What do you need to do/change to reach APL?
I thought keeping it cornrowed under the wig was going to help last year, but I needed to moisturize more frequently. i am doing better with that. I really needed a satin pillowcase on at night to avoid broken centerback since my scarf often falls off. Also, i have documented how i like to straighten my hair so that I do not forget and burn sections again this year.

What month do you expect to reach your goal?
i admire all you people who should make your goals early in the year, but i am not among you. i think that it will take all of 2019 and I may have to borrow from 2020

Post your starting pic.
in album :)

Nothing new here, just keeping hair stretched and s&ding still. Lots less ssks, but still seeing splits and tackling them as they arise. I'm trying to master braidouts now since I'm getting really bored of these dutchbraids, but I may have to just leave well enough alone and keep it all tucked away.

I have updated my holding spot post with my regimen and starting length on the first page.

Last night was my first shampoo and DC of the year. Hair feels nice and soft. Going to maybe do flat twist tonight.

i always start the year off so energetically... i have been keeping up with my moisturizing goals since i have been wearing the wig... since september. i have also been protecting my hair at night. i still think i need to be more careful when using a denman to detangle. if i am getting any damage, it is because of the way i'm using it

I think the weather is too dry for 2 strand twists so I will go back to flat twist until the spring. I shampooed with Redken Cleansing Conditioner and now doing an overnight DC with Mane Choice Type 4 Mask. I will figure out what I'm doing with my hair tomorrow.

I need to add my starter pics. I've been in mini twists under a wig for a few weeks. I'm scared to keep them in for too long but this hyperemesis is killing me. I don't wanna do anything...but I don't want accidental locs either. Maybe this weekend...

For right now, I'm trying water rinsing, applying conditioner and then twisting it up and then repeating every other day to see if I can increase my moisture levels. Years ago I think I tried this but I had heat damage so that wasn't a good test. I think I've also tried cowash or something every few days. Not sure I have really tried this though. We shall see.

I've noticed if I put in deep conditioner and leave it in, my hair initially feels soft for a while. I think that last a day or 2 and then it feels crunchy. So I figured I would try reapplying it every other day.

I dilute the conditioner and then squeeze it through my hair until it is saturated.

It is going to be annoying to do my hair every other day but it is worth a try. Not sure how long I will try it. But if I don't feel like it is working I will just go back to my LOC. I do know that my scalp likes water every day. Whenever I rinse it you would think it hasn't seen water for months.

I didn't touch my hair. I finally decided to do the responsible thing and make a doctor's appointment. I haven't spoken much of it but I've been incredibly lethargic lately, sleeping the majority of the day and just not going outside. I'm so tired, I just skip meals because I don't feel like dealing with it. I finished work around 5 and took a nap, got up 20 minutes ago. Yes, it's time for bed.

So I was talking with a friend and realized that it might be the lack of vitamin D, I might just be depressed (even though I don't feel like I am) or I might need to revisit my iron levels. Either way, I requested to get bloodwork done on Wednesday. I do think it's probably mental honestly, but it'd be smarter of me to make sure it's not medical first, I suppose. Usually when I feel this bad I go to the gym, but I messed up my ankle during that month I was back and forth at the airport from carrying my heavy laptop wrong. So I tried to go to the gym the other week and could only walk for 45 minutes. I bought an ankle brace, but if that doesn't work then I need to go back to physical therapy....

Starting off this new year real good lol.
