My hair is very prone to build up. When I water wash after about maybe 2 washes my hair gets very coated and dry as if there's a film on it. I'm not shampooing that often though that's just as needed. I'll be cowashing or using a shampoo bar most days.

I've been thinking of getting a water filter but I keep going back and forth on it because I keep seeing that it doesn't soften the water although it may filter out some things.

Also are you using a chelating shampoo? Redken hair cleansing creme has been vital to my hair with my house's hard water.

Did too much again exhausted. Spent $100 at Sally's. Wanted to try my new flatiron didn't go w Baby bliss didn't like it. Wasn't into this today really hacked it, but hea it is. Bought the cute colored Clippie things for when I'm into it. Taking a bath, wash this paint off my body n going to bed!

@Caramel74 looks better then what I could do lol.

Did a wash and go yesterday and it turned out pretty well. Really need to color my hair again soon it's looking very red these days. Sometimes I feel like my hair could go down to the floor and still shrink up to my neck.

I find myself looking forward to wash day these days. It's kind of funny considering how for the last few years I was putting it off as long as possible.

Also ordered silk scrunchies. I've already noticed less tangling with the satin one I have so I'm ready to invest.
I know we always think washing our hair is the enemy but sometimes its exactly what is needed. I found that out the hard way too. One day my hair was awesome, and I swear the very next day it had all the symptoms of damaged hair! One word. Buildup. Leave in products can make this happen faster....

@pikkonoloidlee

I'm very happy you are progressing in your hair journey hon.

Hai molto talento! You are very talented!

È incredibile che tu possa inscatolare la tua intera testa!

It is amazing you can box braid your own entire head!

How do you plan on wearing it during the break?

That's sweet thank you! Your plan is perfect very glad to hear that beautiful.

@Prettymetty
Good to hear from you. I love your style now, you look so cute! You don't have to wig unless you want to n its comfortable. My friend wigs n she likes it, but her hair is very short. I think she had a bad experience w dreads n had to cut way back.

I try to b encouraging by talking about the forum n asked her to join but at the same time would never want to make anyone feel some type a way....

Checking in! Washed my hair last week and did a quick/no frills length check. My hair was wet from the shower, but I think I see a little bit of growth! I’ve been trying to stay on top of my m/s game and also massaging jbco on my scalp at least every other day. I’ve noticed increased growth from that. It used to be my go to back in the day and I fell off. Trying to get back to methods that I know worked for me and be consistent with them. So far so good. Thinking about incorporating rice water into my regimen to help with shedding/breakage, but not sure how my relaxed hair will like it. :look:

My hair is doing good. However, I’m at still at the length I was at when I started this challenge due to having to cut 2 inches off in January. My ends were damaged. My hair grew back very fast since and I think I will at least make it to bsl this year if not mbl. Also my old name was lovearianna but I changed it for those who don’t know who I am.

Love the new name, and thank you for checking in. Happy to hear you got rid of the damage and that you'll meet your goals this year!

Just checking in. I received a Silk press and a trim. Then forgot to bring my scarf to Zumba and sweat out my hairline :cry3: Most of hair is still pretty straight, just fluffy. I’ll just use some edge control for the rest of the week. I will post a picture a little later.

Last week I decided to color my hair without deep conditioning and now I can remember that my hair really doesn't like that. It felt extra dry all week so I tried to be more careful.
Deep conditioning tonight then I'll wash it out and put it in a bun tomorrow.
Products:
- Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo
- Mielle Organics Babassu & Mint Deep Conditioner
- Kinky Curly Knot Today
- Kinky Curly Curling Custard

Ah it's fine now. I usually deep condition when I color it but I decided not to this most recent time just to see what would happen lol. It's been months since I've colored it so sometimes I like to try things a bit differently to see if it's still the best route.

I do plan to get a dryer though. Eventually I'll get around to it. :drunk:

Oil rinses were unfortunately a no-go.

My hair when it's natural or bleached is great it's just figuring it out when it's colored but I'm getting closer. :heart3: at least I haven't had to cut it all off this time, lol.

Edit: I cowashed my hair. I couldn’t take the two different textures. My hair is slicked back into a bun for the week.
