Went to my fav stylist for my regular blowut/flat iron + trim (I go every few months but thinking to cut this back to twice a year in the future once I get my hair in a good state)

unfortunately I felt like she completely rushed and didn't use the extra care and consideration she normally does :/ but we all have off days and Still think she gave me a great trim which turned into a mini cut because of breakage :cry3:I think the breakage (which I noticed as well) is a result of the poor hair care and stress when I was super sick in February. Also she said my growth was stagnant :cry3:so we'll have to keep an eye and see but she not wrong it’s basically the same length as it was at Thanksgiving. I will likely go back for another trim in June and give my hair all kinds of TLC between now and then. Once my hair gets back healthy root to tip I think I will only trim twice a year.

I think I finally have a good routine with good techniques and healthy products that will help stop breakage, reduce shedding, and increase growth and shine. Fingers crossed. I pray I'll be full APL by December.

I'm thinking of incorporating Black Seed Oil into my regimen. I want to take the capsules for internal full body health and add the oil to my HOT pre-poo and scalp oil mix for growth and to improve the overall quality of my hair.

Looks good. You are pretty close to APL so with your new changes, I really think you can make it by December if not before.

My regimen this weekend is:

Pre-poo - Chicoro's moisture pre-poo of AVG and EVCO - I need the big guns this weekend and this works well on my hair.
Shampoo - Natur Growth Bambu shampo

Moisturizing DC - Afro Love Hair Souffle mixed with Bekura YAM Nectar
Leave-in - IN Aloe and Hibiscus
M/S - CFCG Curl Moisturizer and BM Grease or diy Shea Butter
Style - Bunning since my hair still roots still look pretty dark from my henna color last weekend.

Doing my henna tonight. I knew I had shorter sections in my hair but tonight while putting it in sections, I realized that the short section on the back right is 3 times as large as the short section on the right. So I must have hade a lot more breakage on that side. I'm not sure why.

Nothing to do but let it grow out which I think will take most of the year :ohwell:

Alright so I feel like my hair grows much slower than I'd like to.
But I won't torture myself by trying to compare to December's starting pics, so here's my progress pics for today.
I'm not measuring bangs, they haven't budged:darkcloud:

I'll be posting a progress pic but not exactly sure when. I need a full 3-4 days to take down my hair, wash, dry, and possibly straighten and the next 2 weeks aren't looking good for me to have that kind of time.

Post when you can. We love pictures but they are first for your benefit to have a comparison along the way. Catching issues and making necessary changes every 4 months is more helpful than getting to the end of the year and being surprised.

Here is my April check in!

The top right is from Jan. The bottom right is from the beginning of this month.

I added the left picture because it doesn't seem as long when my SO pulls my nape. So my length checks seem inconsistent.

Regardless, I should be able to make APL this year lol

I also have crochet locks currently. I went to another stylist than my usual since she was affordable. She claimed I needed a trim really bad, but I JUST got one in January. She got pissy when I said naw lol. If I need a trim I will get one from my usual stylist. I don't trust everyone with my hair.
A month ago I was told my hair was fine and that I take good care of it so I was skeptical to say the least.

What length are you now?
I'm collarbone length in back, about 2 inches to APL.
Chin length bangs and sides.

What month do you expect to reach your goal?
Long estimate will be that my back and nape will reach APL by April/May.

So I've reached APL in my back and side layers of hair, as per my long time estimate.

I think the rice water and/or the Xcel spray has really helped, even though I wasn't using them in a serious manner.

I will figure out how to attach my update picture and post it.
