I just thought of another use for my RevAir! I’m down to my last bottle of dark brown Sebastian Cellophanes. The instructions say it must be combed through the hair. Because of that I really don’t look forward to using it because combing through freshly washed 4a-b hair kind of sucks. But NOW I can stretch it with my RevAir (’cause apparently the hair is supposed to be 75% dry) and get proper coverage with the color! I’m SO looking forward to next wash day!

I know everyone in here with the 400$ blow dryer, but I bought a magical 40$ blow dryer. I'm in love with. It's that Revelon 1 step blow dryer brush. I have used it twice. I love it. It is excellent for blow out my hair to go get braided. I even did a twist out on blown out hair.

Oh, So y'all got money huh? (Money to blow - Drake)

Imma try to blow dry soon, with a basic blow fryer. I'll be implementing some of these tips.
I just got the revair and I don't regret it. But I saw a YouTube video comparing results with it and the Revlon one step dryer, with the brush attachment. She got much better results with the one step, and it's like 40 bucks. She didn't really comb while using the revair and if your don't, I can see having hair that doesn't get detangled. Brush and comb and attachments will generally do a better job helping you detangle. I do like them, but they are also harder on my hair and take longer. I still intend to use them periodically to get that complete detangle, but I think I'll be using the revair most weeks

I use Chi silk or the suave keratin cream to smooth my hair.
I use the mini babyliss pro blow dryer with the concentrator nozzle (tension method.)
I moisturize with Garnier sleek and shine cream and seal with coconut oil.

My hair loves the blow dryer. Every blue moon I do a blow dry only and leave a little texture. I’m mostly a straight hair natural though. Type 4b, fine and low density. People say my hair is thick though... Idk

I kept it simple. I shampooed, DCd with heat and then left it in overnight. I rinsed it out the next day and then applied the DC again and left it in all day. Later that evening I rinsed added leave-in and blow dried on low with the Rev Air. It was straight enough to use my split ender to dust my ends.

I wore my hair stretched for a few days and my hair felt soft and not dried out.

When my hair gets longer I will blow dry more often but for now I will leave-it for every now and then.

I have been revairing quite a bit lately. I have been trying to get better with setting but once my set frizzes or for whatever reason doesn't look 'polished' anymore, I will just revair already set and detangled hair then and tuck it away until my next wash day. This is working out well for me. The revaired hair is holding up for 2-3 weeks before the next wash is needed. I feel like I could stretch it for a month if I didn't have drying setting product on my hair(still looking for that perfect setting product but I have a bunch to try out still (already purchased). I have a bunch of regular protectants w/hold along with setting products to try to see which will be give soft hair firm hold. I have not found the perfect one for sets just yet).

Your hair does look thick! The ends are like perfection!

I’m deep conditioning right now with Not your mother’s blonde moment and Masquintense. I’ll blow dry and wig it for another week...

Thanks dear!! I just did a trim last month. I’m a diyer for the most part. I usually go to the salon for color or if it’s a special occasion. I’m saving serious coins doing it myself :yep:

After using the Revair a couple more times, my opinion about it has changed. I think the decent results I got the first time I used it was because my hair had been really well detangled from a blow dry with the comb attachment the previous week. The second time I used it, I didn't like the results at all. It was too puffy, even for me, and more tangled even though I tried combing with a wide tooth comb before and during the middle of drying. I emailed Revair for tips and the person who responded gave me some, we even went back and forth on email a few times. I also, in the meantime, bought the Revlon One Step. I just got finished blow drying my hair and had both the Revair and One Step on hand. I mostly used the OneStep, but used the Revair on a few sections. They were so much worse, I actually went over them again with the One Step. I tried to implement the tips for Revair, but it wasn't working out for me.

The one step was really fast and helped me detangled because it's a brush. Now, I wouldn't recommend using it all the time, because it's got to cause some damage, whether from heat or manipulation. I mean, maybe not for everyone, but almost certainly for me. But really the results were so much faster and better, it's hard for me to justify the $370 I paid for Revair. I still have about 10 days to decide on keeping the Revair. I'll try it one more time. Thing is, I know results can be good, because Reniece used it on me and had nice results. But she's got more skills than me  Also, she spent at least 2 hours conditioning and brushing, brushing, brushing before doing the Revair, and I don't have that kind of time. I need a dryer that's going to help me get through my hair faster.

And by the way, I like the One Step better than my yellow bird, at least after this 1st use. Reniece recommended trying the Silver Bird, back when the only dryer I had was the Yellow Bird, and I didn't find the Silver Bird to be any better. It cost more money, but I actually think the results were not as good. Out of the 4, right now the One Step is the winner.

Deets: 4c, around BSL-MBL, medium-fine hair, fairly dense.

I definitely agree that hair has to be well detangled in order to get the best results with the revair. I always use my Felicia leatherwood brush to detangle because it thoroughly gets the job done without ripping my hair out. A wide tooth comb may not be the best detangling tool to use with the revair depending on how far apart the teeth are. What tension level and heat setting are you using? I love the revair for various reasons but if you feel like you're not getting your money's worth, I would definitely return it and stick to what works and minimizes damage.

I just ordered this brush.

I used various settings. Low and high, tension 3 to 7. Thing is, I wasn't looking for a blow dryer because I just love blow outs so much. I use blow dryers to help me detangle. So if i have to do a thorough detangle before blow drying, which tens to take me 2 hours or so, I've saved no effort or time. With the one step, at least i could detangle and blow dry all together in under an hour.

I'm still thinking on returning. I might try one more time with the new brush, but it's just going to be how detangled I can get it in an hour. If I can't get good results with under an hour of detangling plus half an hour of blow drying, it's not going to be worth it to me

Thanks for the suggestion!
You and @faithVA are the bomb.com! The tgin tea tree leave in was just what I needed to prevent my blow out from turning into a poodle puff. 00100sPORTRAIT_00100_BURST20190120105831052_COVER-979x1305-391x521.jpgthis was my original blow out using the tgin daily butter cream moisturizer back in January. IMG_20190120_133553-979x1305.jpgThis was not even 2 hours later. The shrinkage continued until my ends started hugging and I was forced to hide my hair to avoid knots.
IMG_20190516_114543-612x816.jpg this was today when I took down my braids. IMG_20190516_222201-612x816.jpg this was after being at work all day. It barely puffed up which means shrinkage is being kept at bay and this blow out will actually last. I can't thank you guys enough for the suggestion

Your ponytail is everything and your twist out is on point! I bought the same Revlon brush dryer and returned my RevAir. Do not regret that decision at all.
