Just another update from my hair cut. It’s been about 2 weeks since I got it done and I’ve noticed that my ends are getting knotted quickly. It’s odd because my routine hasn’t changed and neither have my products. I’m not sure if it’s because I had a blunt cut from last year and this cut put a little bit of layers in it or what is going on. I’m going to blowout my hair soon and possibly cut more to get back my blunt cut. I’ll post and updated length check photo at that time.

The Deva cut specialists might have a bit of knowledge too. This art is new for us curlies, and they may have a product and or process for you.

Just checking in!

@Caramel74 Best of luck to you! Sending positive vibes!
@Prettymetty Welcome new admin!

I have been maintaining WNGs for the last 2 months or so. Wigs, weaves, and any style with added hair is just too much right now. The Virginia heat is here to stay for a while. Speaking of heat, the humidity this week is going to be high, so I'm currently wearing a bun.

I'm getting hair-anorexia. I know my hair is growing, but the shrinkage is deceiving. I notice that my hairs continue to shrink throughout the week as it dries out in a WNG. I feel like I'm stuck at APL, but I want to believe it's all in my mind. I have no plans to straighten my air until Fall/Winter time frame.

E69659D7-0013-4D32-97A7-068ED3BFC575.jpeg I’m just getting around to washing my hair. I ended wigging it to graduation...

I washed with Kerastase fluidaliste shampoo and I’m under the dryer With Chronologiste. I got a new blunt bob wig today that’s super cute. I’ll wear it for the next couple weeks.

Still doing the same thing pretty much. Washing every other day and then throwing it into a bun. One recent change - because of lack of storage on my shower I've decided to only use the shampoo bar for travel so I'm back using shampoo and conditioner. Things still seem to be on track and my hair feels good overall.

I’m still hanging in there. I have been living a great WNG life, until yesterday. My hair is too long to wear curly, while in uniform. Oh how I wish I had more shrinkage. At first, I thought that I would be one of those curly girls whose hair would stay at neck length no matter how long it got. I was so wrong.
It is just my nape that hangs down too far. The rest has some catching up to do.

EDIT: Looking at this post made me laugh. On 27 May, I posted how I was having hair anorexia. Then yesterday, I post about how I wish I had more shrinkage.:lachen:Oooh, I really need to make up my mind.
On another note, I had a good bit of growth between 27 May and 18 Jun. My bang is approximately an inch past my chin. Next wash day, I will break out the measuring tape.

My hair desperately needed to be colored.

Last night I used Arctic Fox Purple Rain left on for a few hours then added a random hair mask plus the hot oil treatment I've been using on top and left on overnight.

This morning I used:
- Nexxus Color Assure Shampoo
- Not Your Mother's Naturals Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon Conditioner
- Kinky Curly Knot Today
- Kinky Curly Curling Custard

Ever since you posted this I've been thinking about it a lot. I feel like I've noticed the same thing since I had layers cut in last year.

It’s crazy but I’m glad I’m not the only that had that issue! I never updated but I did blow it out and there were random longer parts all over and a weird short patch. I went in and trimmed my ends back to pretty much blunt and the excessive knots and tangles went away. I think I’ll stick to trimming and shaping my own hair from now on. It was beautiful in a wash and go but for how I normally wear my hair Deva Cuts are not a good fit so won’t be doing that again.

I started to take my braids down tonight, but I’m really tired. I worked almost 12 hours today. I’ll take them down Monday for sure. I may even start tomorrow night

Braids are down. It took me about 45 minutes to unbraid my hair and plait it for my wig tomorrow. I may do some more braids in a couple weeks.

Bump...

I wanna hear about y’alls week. What worked? What didn’t? Anything new? Let’s hear it!

I've been wearing my ponytail out (but pinned up) rather than my fake pony. I think it looks nicer but without a doubt the fake pony protects my hair more. Idk I just needed a break I think, or maybe a new type of marley hair for it. Hair has been behaving, which I'm grateful for.

Haven't been washing my hair as often as I would like. Last time was two weeks ago. I've been wearing my hair with a centre part, in two banana clips with my ends out. I will style my ends 'away' next wash day, when I change my style.

I made a new batch of whipped Shea butter a week or two ago and I've been buttering up my skin and hair. Love it.

Scalp massaging; smoothing any sebum present down my strands, misting my hair with water and sealing everything with my Shea butter mix and a little gel (or gel with whipped shea butter mixed in) and sleeping with my silk scarf has my hair feeling soft and looking hydrated and sheeny/ shiny. I need to wash my hair.

I had my color retouched a week ago and wore a silk press. I finally realized my stylist didn’t realize that my hair grows in layers. The last time she trimmed my hair was in late April. I didn’t think it was time for a trim, but she made a comment about my thin ends. She then informed me of a client who’s hair thins as it grows. I just thought to myself “I guess I don’t come often enough for her to know my hair”. So, once again, I’m just above APL (I love a good hemline too). No more trimming though!

I can’t wear WNG anymore, while in uniform. My hair is too long.

I no longer wear hair pieces to make a bun. My hair is now long enough to make a decent small bun. I love my hair and the transformation it has made!

My hair is growing in well and at a average pace. I should still reach BSL by December.
