Major Hit:
Jane Carter Wrap & Roll

I was able to get a full 7 days of soft yet touchable hold, shine and it didnt clash with my Shea Butter. I used a cleansing conditioner today and it rinsed clean with no issues.

Me likey!

Edited because I listed the wrong product name :lachen: I need to sit down somewhere! :lachen:

Using the C&P Chebe moisture mask AFTER the Chebe mud co wash. Wow what a difference, in less than 10 minutes in the shower. I've tried the mask as a deep DC and it was meh. I've tried the co washby itself and it was drying. Together, Perfect.

Inahsi
Aloe leave in. They must have tweaked the formula or my hair porosity has normalized due to the henna. It has mega slip, detangle, moisture. It is now back in my arsenal.

Hit:
The Mane Choice Ancient Egyptian 24k Gel. Completely fallen in love with this stuff.

Miss:
The Mane Choice Cheers GEL-ato. Great definition for my 4yo but it's just protein we don't need so it leaves our hair dry and it knotted her ends.

On the fence:
The Mane Choice Easy on the Curls Hydration Conditioner. Wasn't the most moisturizing for my hair. It was alright for detangling my 2yo's hair.

Initial hits

Product Junkie Naturals Max Hydration LI, slip for days. Moisturizing. Detangling and sunk in. I can’t wait to see what my dried hair looks like tomorrow.

Honey Butter Fluffy Whip, I thought this was going to be whipped and fluffy. It’s a hard butter. It melts down easily, sheeny and seems to be a great sealer. I’ll see how my hair looks tomorrow.

Miss: The Mane Choice (for me specifically). Wanted to love it but several products left my hair rough and this week I had an absurd and concerning amount of shed hair despite coming from a stretched style and it was only 6 days since the previous wash. I had been using the 24k gel this week.

Hit: The brand is fantastic for my 4yo so no money wasted. I also do still like the oil from the boosting kit for myself.

Product Junkie Naturals Rice Water Collection.

The slip in this line is insane. They smells soo good. Each product works very well together and on its own. The custard is a learning curve though. I cant use that in colder weather as my hair was very hard indoors but slightly supple outside. Its definitely a summer/spring styler(for me).

Hits:

- Cleansing multiple (2-3x) per week with a sulfate shampoo. My scalp has never felt better and it really helps me get the most out of my leave-in's and reconstructors having fresh, clean hair on a regular basis. I did experience a little dryness on the third week of consistently doing this, so I might replace the second wash with either a cleansing cowash or a sulfate free poo just to avoid overstripping. But ultimately I loved having clean, SSK/tangle free hair for the month, so I'll definitely try to shoot for at least 2 "full" wash days per week.

- Pre-pooing overnight with oil. Especially since I'm cleansing so often, pre-pooing has been amazingly effective. I used to do it for about an hour before washing with a conditioner like VO5 and it helped with detangling, but letting the oils (EVCO +/or EVOO) penetrate into dry, dirty hair overnight has made a huge difference in the overall condition of my hair. It's stronger, shinier, and way easier to manage whenever I pre-poo with an oil, so I'm gonna keep that in my regimen as well.

Miss:

- Hawaiian Silky 14-n-1. I'm salty about this one because I love the smell and how much product you get for the price, but it simply can't replace S-Curl for me. It also leaves a really greasy film over my hair that just led to stickiness and pure frizz. My hair was soft, but way too frizzy and puffy. S-Curl can have that effect on my hair as well considering the glycerin vs this east coast humidity, but it's way less obvious and the benefits outweigh the aesthetic.
