I need some DC so I'm trying out the heavy DC in the big size.
I'm trying Melanin's leave in conditioner next....
Then I'm on to Mielle….I love DC'sssss

ETA: I really like the packaging and colors and like that the natural gals are front and center in her ads. She'll be making a killing.
Who's number #1 in the natural hair world game? Cuz the Mane Choice is killing it.
Man...all of us on the board from 10 plus years back, could have joined forced and made out with millions by now...dang. What's the new trend, I'm jumping in! lol

I saw so many products today with the same ingredients.. people gotta buy for the packaging and name. There is nothing innovative about the ingredients. I wish her much success. Women love pretty packaging! I know I do! But I can’t spend money like that on hair products, taking up space in my house anymore!

No one is telling you to buy anything.

Formulations can be different even with the same ingredients.

Think of it like potato salad. Lol.

If the products are good she will be successful. She has a name and a gorgeous head of hair. She seems to be doing the right thing with promotion.
We try new lines all the time here. Since I have tons of stuff I will pick up a deep condish and leave in provided it does not have silicones.

Taraji’s line will go the way of Gabrielle Union’s. I have NO interest in Taraji’s line.
Taraji's line is DOA

And I agree with everything else you mentioned. Hers will be one of a "selection" (Tracee) in which to try because why not? But for me only because of the ten year trial (if true :look: let's face it probably not) not because of her hair type or texture.

I will say I was not impressed with the after on Good morning America. Perhaps it was the hair styling or looking on a small screen (my phone) but I was like meh.

Still her hair always looks fab so I will give a go out of curiosity. She is one of the only stars that wears her own hair (black or white) more than anyone. And i realize they must protect it still I need to see their real hair. I am not for buying products a star has never used, doesn't back and is just on the cover for a buck.

Taraji has a line coming? Have we ever seen her hair? :look:
That's the thing I haven't so I am not going to try it when it is out :giggle: . That was my Gabby problem: hair looked damage at times when out otherwise covered. Also not known for luscious locks so le shrug I am not following you when my hair looks better than yours :look: even after prednisone (high doses) and thyroid issues, because of diligent care

I need to see your hair in action and for some time before I go get your suggestions. I need to know it isn't just a fluke or good hair day and that your hair consistently delivers, is healthy, and looks good. As a natural I have those few requirements at minimum.

Ok! So life happened, but I'm back and I tried it! :drunk:
@Embyra (You might have tried it already by now lol but I'll still tag)
@lindseyerinc

ETA: I updated the bottom of the leave-in review. It's not flakey!

-The whole line has a botanical/floral scent which I love. It isn't super heavy after you're done with your hair but while you're doing it, you'll definitely notice it. But I was in heaven because I love floral scents hehe :heart3:

Hydration Shampoo-....I got the smallest size because I didn't really think I would care for it that much, but y'all....I actually really like it :look: I love the scent! It is also hydrating because it's definitely not stripping! Far from a clarifying shampoo. I shampoo'ed with it twice! (I usually only shampoo the length of my hair once because I always shampoo my roots twice with a Salicylic acid containing shampoo). It left my hair feeling great, clean and soft.

*I would buy again

Intensive Conditioner- This is the most moisturizing conditioner so I went with this one. She said it's geared towards 4b/4c hair types and the heavy is for 4a and 3c...I believe? Anywho, I had a bittersweet experience with this.

When I first put it on I was like "Yaaaaaaas!!", Curls were clumping and it had some hold to it too! While I was doing my hair, I was actually thinking about abandoning the leave-in and sticking with this for a wash n go lol. But alas, it is a rinse conditioner so it did have that grayish film on your hair that a lot of them have when you don't rinse out. So I had to rinse it :cry4:I couldn't finesse it (not yet at least). I "deep conditioned" with it for about an hour (they said it counts as a hair mask if you leave it on your head for some time). I didn't have a processing cap on top so it dried in my hair. I tried to lightly rinse it out, in order to keep the amazing curl definition it gave me but it was kind of hard to rinse out! I eventually got it out but there were still some spots left lol. My hair did feel soft afterwards but for it to be a deep conditioner or a mask it was just ok. Also, it didn't have much slip so I wouldn't detangle with it.

*Don't think I would buy again, maybe just to try the "heavy" formula. I wish they could design this same formula as a leave-in.

Leave-in conditioner- I had high hopes because of how much my hair was clumping with the conditioner, but.....nah:sad: The conditioner had more hold and defining power to me. Mind you, to get good definition for me, I usually need curling creams. I think Eden Bodyworks is the only leave-in that I've tried that defines my hair like crazy.

So barely any hold and little defining/curl clumping power. I will say that it did have a lot of slip. I was detangling through some sections with it. So it's good for that. The texture was pretty light. I went with a braid out and y'all! When it dried I had gray flakes in a few sections o_O. I was like ohhhh nahh, because I only used Pattern Beauty products so why would there be flakes??? I am heavy handed so you might need to use a liiiight hand with it. Luckily, after I did the braidout I ran the argan oil hair serum through my hair and all the flakes were instantly gone! So that's good at least. I'll try it again with a lighter hand next time lol. Moisture wise, it didn't really wow me. I love that my hair feels light and fluffy because I'm so use to heavy products buuuuuut, my hair feels a little on the dry side. Soft but dry

*Will try it again, but unlikely to buy it again
ETA: I just got done looking at some of my recording while doing my hair and I see that I had more spots of conditioner than I thought! lol So the flaking most likely didn't come from the leave-in but rather the left over conditioner!

Argan oil hair serum- I'm surprised I like it but I do! I haven't used oils in my hair after washing for like a year or two. This oil serum was super light weight and I liked the mix! It has argan oil, sunflower seed oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, apricot oil, and shea oil. I like using castor oil without having the castor oil feel. You may find a similar mix at a better price point though. It doesn't have a scent, but I kind of wish it did have the same fragrance oil as the rest of the hair line. I'm heavy handed so I used a lot, but there is still a lot left! It doesn't feel greasy either. It got me back putting oil in my hair (after styling):)

*Would buy again, or at least another product like it

Microfiber towel- I usually dry my hair with a soft t-shirt, so I decided to give this a try....chile...Tell me why I thought it was one of those pre-wrapped turbans you just sliiiide on your head and go? lol! So it's a cloth and you tie it up yourself. It's super easy but I didn't expect it to be like this. I do have one complaint. The part that you twist and tuck in the back doesn't stay put. It either needs to be longer or there should be a loop in the back for it. It did absorb well. I didn't have water running down my face or the back of my neck. The fabric kind of feels like the rags that you use to dry cars with lol.

*Will use again, but not really wowed

Overall, it was fun to try and I actually want to try any stylers they might put out in the future. I feel like they have pretty good formulas, but some didn't work for my hair needs. If you try it, go with the smaller sizes if your hair will allow it.

-In the gray hoodie, I had the Intensive conditioner in my hair
-In the white tee with the hair in my face, I had the leave-in conditioner in before I decided to braid it
-Other pictures are my afters

Your hair is so pretty! Get it, girl!

On the way to work today, I've noticed a lot of looks and I got a "Hello" from a cute guy....

Thanks, Tracee!

Alright now! Let me find out. Gone, Vevster! :lachen:

3rd day hair is bigger with definition my cousin really hates the smell of the leave in to the point that she won’t use it again. I wonder if it is a batch issue. I don’t love the scent but I can use the products and it doesn’t linger in my hair like she was experiencing.

Interesting. I barely had a scent for the leave in.

I’ve been traveling so haven’t had time to use all of the products yet. But I did use the towel and agree with the poster above. I love the fabric and it works really well for water absorption, but they should have included a way to keep it on your head. It’s just like a square shaped towel so I put it on and it kept falling off while I walked around the house. Irritating.

Trying the conditioner this weekend.

Is she popular enough to go from announcing that she’s coming out with a product on Sept 3 and launching it on Sept 9th? I feel like there should have been more promotion, buildup, etc.

I’m no longer excited about product releases. They all claim to be filling a void in the market, but it’s just more jars of the most popular natural hair ingredients of the moment. It’s a money grab at this point.

But good for Tracee. Grab that money, I guess. Lol

She sold out most products by day 3... She did amazing!!!
