Tracee Ellis Ross Has A Hair Care Line Pattern

I just used the line again, this time with Qhemet products mixed with the leave in. My hair is defined and elongated. I'm not sure I like the idea of the silicones in my hair TBH. I'm going to keep using them to see one way or the other. My hair looks nice though..... The conditioners are DEF a keeper.

Here's my review for the products that I have used so far.

Pattern Beauty Poo: My hair was nice and clean after using the poo, but not stripped. A little goes along way. The hole on these tubes are huge! I used way more poo than I normally would due to this. Smells like it has a very light dose of patchouli and vertiver. Unisex fragrance. No re-up, it wasn't a bad poo but, I like for my poos to have sodium pca in them i.e. Keracare Sulfate Free Hydrating Detangling poo.

Pattern Beauty Intensive Condish: This is the STAR of her line so far! My hair literally drank this stuff. I kept reapplying to each quadrant of my hair, because it was absorbing into my hair, so well. Rinsed out, after sitting under my Hot Head for about 45 mins. Baby, my hair was nice and soft, but felt like their was some residual product, so I rinsed again, it still felt like there was residual product. Yes, I rinsed thoroughly. Smells like a light dose of patchouli and vertiver again, but this time there's verbena added. Verbena is the stronger note. Unisex fragrance. Will gladly re-up, if it's on sale, but not at full price.

Pattern Beauty Leave In: One of the videos I watched said it felt like water, but it didn't to me. I used it as a detangler, before proceeding to my normally scheduled program of LCOB'ing my hair. I could've used this as my leave in. Smells just like the Intensive Condish, a light dose of verbena, patchouli and vertiver mixed together. I have a ton of leave ins that I love at better price points. I'm not likely to repurchase unless it's on sale, and probably, not even then.

Key Notes: All of the products have a clean fresh light unisex smell. I see you Ms. Ellis-Ross, making sure you can get the guys COIN, as well. I see you!

All three of the of the products made my hair CLUMP. I don't wear unstretched hair but, I believe this would be huge for curly girls, or ladies that wear wash and go's. When I say all three that includes the poo. When I not tired, I'll look at the ingredients to see if I can ascertain what the common denominator is that causes the clumpling.

* This was a curiosity purchase that I made on the day it launched at Ulta Beauty with the full intention of returning, if I didn't like it :look:. I'm going to pass the remnants of my OTG kit and Intensive Condish onto DS the next time he comes down from school due to the nice unisex fragances.

**I didn't use the Heavy Condish that comes in the kit, so I can't speak on it.

***I played with the hair clip for a minute while in the store. It's pretty, but I would need at least two (2). It's a sturdy clip, but for $10 apiece, I have stronger clips at home already.

****I wanted to check out/play with the brush, but the box it comes in was sealed well. If someone buys it, please let me know what some of the YT reviewers mean, by stating you can't modify it like a Denman. Are you unable to remove the rubber base to access the rows of tines? Or, can you remove the base, but the rows of tines are attached in a way that they're un-removeable. Yes, I'm that nosey. Please advise!

The shampoo, medium conditioner, heavy conditioner and leave in conditioner contains amodimethicone. The medium conditioner, heavy conditioner, and the intensive conditioner contain beeswax and isopropyl alcohol.

*disclaimer* I am not making any judgements. Just listing the ingredients for those that are ingredients conscious or following some form of the curly girl method. It's interesting to see some ingredients conscious influencers gloss over the ingredients and make exceptions for this line. I've watched a lot of reviews and people with type 3a - 3c seems to have the best visual results.

I was side eyeing the alcohol at first then I realized my favorite leave in has it too.

I used the kit again this weekend and the heavy conditioner was still the best of the bunch.

Dammit! My hair does not like cones. I'll only get the intensive.

The eye catching packaging got me and I picked up the intensive conditioner and leave in.

I LOVE the conditioner, it left my hair seriously soft and clumped my curls very well. The leave in was nice too, it almost made my hair too soft. I used it under eco styler gel for a twist out, and my hair was soft in a way that I knew the definition wouldn’t last. I like the definition wet line gel gives me but it makes my hair crispy dry, so I’m going to use leave in under that to see if it helps.

I would definitely purchase the conditioner again, esp since I was able to use an Ulta coupon and my points on it to bring the price down and there aren’t too many deep conditioners that I really like. I have mostly 4a hair with 3c in the nape and 4b in the crown

So it's the medium and the leave-in that have cones.

So I’ve now tried both the heavy and intensive conditioners and the intensive wins by a landslide for my hair!

The moisture level was perfect, my curls were popping after rinsing. I only left in for about 4 minutes while showering - next time I’ll let it marinate longer.

Just realized that I didn’t get the hair clip as part of the tools kit I ordered. I emailed them and got this response

They get an A for effort since the email came immediately. But the formatting and words being cut off is inexcusable.

Looks like some type of error.

They are giving celebs and certain influencers care packages that include a spray bottle and a tote bag.

I plan to purchase, but I need to use what I have up. Probably 6 months down the line or maybe in a year. Anyways, by then I hope to see if the product line is a keeper or gone the way other celeb hair lines.
I admire your discipline. My strategy going forward is only to buy products that are curly girl friendly.

I attended the instagram live and now she is recommending products based on POROSITY
If you have high po: she recommends the Shampoo, Medium Conditioner, and Leave In
If you have Low Porosity she recommends the Heavy and Intensive conditioners and the serums...
