Devacurl Formula Change Warning

Sound the Alarm! What in the Aubrey Organics is going in here?
Looks like Deva had an ownership change and the formulations of their products has changed. I have a deep conditioner still and I noticed my hair was dryer than usual, I had to use more leave in and oils to correct it. So next wash day I will rewash and Condition with something else. I’m guessing that like a lot of companies they had a lot of old formula products in the warehouses ready to ship out and the new formulations have recently hit the market I can tell my old DevaCurl DC has a different name than the new one I just bought oh and it’s suspiciously lower cost for a bigger jar. Mmmm...
Any info, testimonies, receipts ladies please post.

Mannnnn, and I literally just started recommending this product to my clients. and I'm not one to do product recommendations. But as recently as 2 months ago I started HIGHLY RECOMMENDING there No Poo/Low Poo Shampoo to my SL clients, both for softness and moisture....and simplicity

This lady irks my nerves. She's a stylist but she doesn't seem to know much about hair care. She was always peddling DevaCurl products in her previous videos (which it looks like she took down) about 2 years ago. Any whisper that those products didn't work or weren't worth the money was shut down. She literally would advocate people not to try different lines or companies. If you were having hair problems, there was something in the DevaCurl line that could work for you, you just have to find the perfect combo and methods of application. IMO, a lot of her problems came about because she didn't know how to balance protein and moisture because she only focused on how her curls looked at the end of styling with the DC products. She did eventually figure it out, but far too late and it was only then that she started using other products.

Now that my rant is over, I will say that I'm in a global CGM group on FB and many people are complaining of issues with the DC products. The low poos and conditioners seem to be causing the most issues. So while I don't like Curly Ninja, I've heard too many stories from various countries to say something isn't going on.

I've tried some of the gels that I didn't like because they didn't give enough hold. and the Coconut Styling Cream is a staple, but I have had enough in my backup stash where I haven't had to purchase the new formula.

They are expensive anyway.

I have a color appt. which I will cancel.
Both my stylists only use DevaCurl. This could destroy businesses and careers if the don’t get ahead of this.

I'm looking at the 2 products I do use -- the decandence cowash and hair oil as if they are ticking time bombs. I'm going to cancel my hair appt. and then join that group to see if they have identified batches that are 'good'. I haven't had any issues....

In NY everyone is ruled by their coins so I don't think my stylist would give me honest info on this topic. All I know is Deva is all they use. I asked the bald guy, from Ohio about this and he was so snotty in his reply --- I knew it would severely affect his coins if he even hinted at a DevaCurl quality issue.

Wow, I'll have to investigate this. I've been using Deva products as the vast majority of my hair care regimen since 2015. I would have to switch products all over again after years of relative stability. :cry3:

Are there any videos or info on this issue with any ladies with curl pattern higher than 2C. I use the decadence conditioner and my sister and I haven't had any issues. Our hair ranges from 3B-3C-4A. We don't use it exclusively but the decadence conditioner, Melt into moisture, heaven in hair and b'leave in are staples for us. Just wonder if anyone other the clears have had an problem.

I texted my colorist and ask if color clients had to use Deva products. I feel they have the right to field the question...... I don't want to ghost a relationship that I've had for years.....

For some people, I wonder if it's just as simple as stopping conditioner washing and using an actual shampoo to remove build up from the scalp and hair strands.

I will say that when I first used Deva I used the decadence line in entirety and it did not agree with my hair, very coated. It was just too much for my hair. Now I use Tresemme for my cowash and Cantu txtr apple cider on my scalp once a week and Cantu cleansing oil shampoo every 3-4 weeks (I did use the build-up buster and liked it but Cantu is cheaper). I have low porosity hair and deva decadence conditioner is the only product that has kept moisture in my hair up to 3 days i.e soft and shiny. I have tried other breads such as Pattern Beauty, Innersense, Ouidad but they were nowhere near Deva decadence for me.
