I used both and I prefer the intense hydrator. It's more moisturizing. I am in the minority of people who didn't love the balm. I prefer the k Pak line overall, everything from it is golden.

Did you try the new or old MRB? I’m still using the old formula, and haven’t tried the new ones. K-pak really is a great line. I feel all of Joico’s lines do what they say they’re supposed to. Im interested in their newer line, the damage prevention/bond building one too.

Continued Old Hit:

Applying JBCO on damp hair. I slightly over saturated my hair with JBCO, let it air dry then tied my hair up in a silk scarf and wear overnight. Every time, my hair is soft AND non-greasy in the morning. My hair needs this treatment more regularly than I am doing it right now.
When I wash and dry my hair I apply my JBCO onto my scalp, then blow dry that through to the ends. I find that it conditions the hair for days and don't need to reapply before wash day. I may try your method on damp hair but not saturating it though as its thick and heavy.

Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm is one of my staples. Do either of you know how it compares to the Intense Hydrator?

Pretty much anything from Joico is a HIT for me.
I prefer the intense hydrator. The intense hydrator has a lower viscosity than the recovery balm and spreads easier. It pulls moisture into my strands and works quickly. I don't have to sit under a dryer for 30 minutes. A plastic cap and 5 to 15 minutes is all I need. The recovery balm is a little too heavy for my hair. It coats and smooths my strands but doesn't seem to actually add moisture.

I hadn’t heard about their damage prevention line before. Just looked it up and now I want it lol

I find it really works well in water so use one or two drops of JBCO. If your hair isn't wet enough add a couple of drops of water to your hand with the JBCO, it really moves around well with water. I rarely use it without a bit of water or other liquid.

I prefe the the Recovery Balm. The difference between the 2 is the pH. The balm has a pH range of 4.5-5.0 The hydrator- 4.0-4.5-., I think. On the old packaging the pH is on the back of the tube The hydrator makes my hair feel like sandpaper.

Oh, damn. Not sandpaper... What ingredient (s) do you think is causing that for you? The ph difference is not much.

I’ve pretty much perfected my regimen so no misses this year!

Hits:
Straight Request Fixative deep conditioner
Silicon Mix conditioner
Silicon Mix heat protectant cream
Olaplex No. 2
Design Essentials Honey Creme shampoo
Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Oil Heavy Cream
Godrey Nupur Henna

That’s pretty much it at the moment - I did just order the CHI Silk Infusion to see if it works better than the Silicon Mix heat protectant cream. This cream works great but I want to try a serum.

Natty Naturals Locs + Tress Oil
Terressentials Hair Wash

....my hair is pure silk, even in braids. Not one stray, light and moisturized. Curls were popping everywhere after using the Natty Naturals DC. The hair wash also helped with detoxifying my strands. Very very happy with these purchases.

I had to wait a few weeks for my Yaya Creations shipping notice, that was long before Black Friday.

What techniques did you find?
Using sample foundation and concealer Sephora gives as free samples. They’re usually 4-6 shades on sample card. (I found that foundation blends better than concealer for a beginner)

Order a 24 piece makeup brush set from Amazon for dirt cheap.

Using a wet beauty blender, pat each area of ur face area by area. Go over any harsh lines w/ that used side of the beauty blender.
Now that ur face is set... go over building coverage//apply more product for a full face.

because eye brushes are small... it allows u to contour little bit by little to avoid messing up on a larger scale. Contour ur nose w/ a eye brush... check bones, etc.

I did my face 2x using the Pat McGrath Foundation sample card. The lighter foundation blends better than the concealers for me. At the moment I add concealer samples to my Sephora orders, eBay has samples to find a concealer that blends for me.
