Be careful with the protein!!!! This woman lost her waist/tailbone length hair to protein overload.

Her skin is absolutely radiant!

I hate that she lost so much length. I don't follow her but is it possible that some of that tangling is the result of not detangling before using the protein product? My hair used to tangle like that if I didn't remove all of the shed hair (after taking down braids or sew-ins) before shampooing.

Wow!! I've never seen anything like that before. Heard about it, but never seen protein overload like that.

I love her personality and outlook on hair. I did another cut yesterday and our length is about the same so I might follow her along on her YT to see if I can make TB length one day. :look:

I have had that before. Just like that actually and I have manually detangled my own(and the heads of others) out of that state(Thank you Lord for the years I wore braids all the time and learned to detangle months worth of product that gets stuck at the base of the braid when you wear the a long time back to back without losing edges). You don't actually have to cut off as much as she did but your are looking at a good 7+ hours of strand by strand/from the ends up detangling like you would handle a loc takedown though. It was possible to prevent losing that much length but she would have had to jump on that like the day it happened section by section instead of extra washes that matted it more. I feel for her I watched her video a day or two ago and It sucks. I have had drastic cut setbacks but the good news is that it is way faster growing your hair back out after you have reached hair goals than initial grow outs are.

**********Never wash your hair in an attempt to reduce matting(it can reduce tangling not matting though). You can make it damp and add products for slip but washing it will matt it more.

yeah i've seen vids of people removing dreads so i think its possible.... there use to be this lady on utube that had a salon for severely matted hair.... i would have done my research on the web... i think she just gave up and started pulling the knots apart which left her with many sections that were ripped off to maybe 5 inches or so.... it was so sad to see. she has another vid talking about it when it happened. but i wanted to leave yall with this one to show the happy ending....

I feel for her..
My hair dred before as well.. I had to cut it also.. I shampooed my hair while it was braided, Never again, It matted so bad..
My hair do not like protein at all.. It's definitely a learning process..

My hair is beginning to hate protein. I've had my hair tangle like this before. It's a nightmare! My hair is hip length and I detangle it before washing or it will mat up like this. I have to deep condition on dry hair before shampooing.... If I deep condition after shampooing my hair will tangle as well.

This showed up in my recommendations yesterday so I watched it. Her skin is gorgeous! And she's so pretty and funny. I haven't seen the first video yet about what caused the matting. All I know is that she left a protein treatment on overnight.
yeah she is really pretty.... someone should ask her for a skin care reggie... her skin looks like buttah.
