Seeking hair advice as a natural newbie

Okay so I big chopped the end of January 2021 after a 14 month transition from relaxed hair. I am high porosity probably due to previous hair color. I plan to buy roux porosity corrector to see fit his help. My hair has grown since then but now I see single strand knots on the floor or it could be a combo of shed hair.. As of know for the past 3 weeks I have been wearing a low puff using a satin scrunching. It’s low maintenance and I like the look as I am lazy. I moisturize my puff daily but it dries out so fast. I tried twistouts but my hair shrinks too much with that. I have fine strands so wearing extension braids is too risky. I shampoo weekly with about 1 co wash in between. I feel empowered and lost at the same time. I may revisit braidouts to stretch my hair. What can I do along this hair journey to regain length. Also what are some good edge controls to use that last more than one day.

What products are you using on shampoo and cowash day?
Wash day I alternate between L’Oréal eve pure moisture sulfate free or creme,of nature moisturizing shampoo. I cowash with either Pantene cowash or crewmen of. Nature cowash. I just clarified with suave clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup.

What are you using after you cleanse?
.
You may want to look into getting a salon quality shampoo and conditioner. It doesn't sound like much but they make a world of difference, which I found out last year.

But after you condition, what products are you applying, especially if you are going to leave your ends exposed?

I have been alternating using mielle products such as their leave in and twisting soufflé. and Shea moisture. I’m still experimenting with ecostyler but I dislike having a firm gel cast on my hair

Try a simple regimen for 30 day. Clarify and then follow with a moisturizing shampoo to give yourself a fresh start. Then on your wash days use a moisturizing shampoo, conditioner, leave-in and styler. Try sticking to one group of products for a while to see if you are making progress. Using too many products you can't tell if it is your hair or the products. I would leave Shea moisture and ecostyler alone for a while until you really know your hair.

Instead of doing LOC, just do the leave-in and styler. Or if you are going to a wash and go use a botanical gel and the you can use a quality gel with hold over it.
