Roe is Dead. Long Live Christ the King!

This thread escalated quick.

@Lylddlebit While I know that this is not a magic bullet that will change hearts and minds and convert souls, it fills me with hope that God answers prayers and that the fervent, effective prayer of a righteous person avails much. It makes me believe that God will imminently wipe away the curse of blood that has come over the nation and that this is the beginning of good things for U.S. America, and by extension the world.

It makes me believe that there will come a day when God will touch hearts and people will choose life - that gun laws will change, men will stop raping and abusing women and children, men will stop propositioning every woman that moves in the hope that they can experience pleasure without caring about the consequences, women won't feel cornered into killing their babies, people [especially men] will take responsibility for their bodies. Maybe there will even come a day in the U.S when children will go to school and people will go to the supermarket or mall without fearing that they will be shot dead.

It sounds like a dream, right? Well, the overturning of Roe vs Wade has made me feel like God's will can be done on earth as it is in Heaven - right down to everyone receiving Him and His love and mercy.

Do I believe that everyone who campaigned for life wants God's will to be done on earth? No. But I believe that God wants that and since it's His world which He made for His pleasure, it's His right. I think we should all seek to know His will and His definition of everything, and then things in this life will be clearer.

I pray that God comforts all who mourn at this time and reveals Himself to them in truth. May His voice be louder than all other, in Jesus' name.

Well said! I think you made some great points here, that this isn't a magic bullet and there is still work to be done (protecting women and children, punishing rapists and abusers, mitigating gun violence, etc.).

The problem was/is, Women's free will (ETA: and reproductive needs and rights) was wrapped up into this legislature to start.
So by default, you exchange one frustration for the other. Because women carry the baby....she then loses her right to decide things about her health/body. There are VERY VERY few winners. Except those who won an arguement.

Most people fighting on the side of "Pro-Choice" don't want or need an abortion. They don't want the state to decide over their body or that of their wife or female loved ones. And some of that is still problematic. It also puts women's reproductive health at risk and thats an unfair but REAL thing. So when women see people celebrating Roe's overturning, they pray to God for different reasons. Some of that is that they no longer have free will. They can't get IVF because its legislated differently now. Or they're a doctor and they hope their lawyer will give them insight immediately about the legality of a life-saving D&E or D&C because a patient had a miscarriage and its actually not passing naturally, and that mom is bleeding out and they need an answer in 30 minutes or she will lose her life or her uterus/fertility to a hysterectomy. And her desperate want for a baby of her and husband's flesh and blood are gone, as is their ability to continue a genetic legacy. They see threads like this and can only depend on God to walk their mental health back. It may take a few days if ever. But her kids and family may be neglected until she can regulate again. Or she is a child services staff and despite being overloaded with kids with no placement, she is praying she can hang on a few more weeks/months for new staff onboarding that still hasn't come because the unplaced will skyrocket. I feel like people just don't understand how so much is lost. Because where you live should not determine HOW and IF you or a loved one will live. And that to support those who benefit from Roe--even those who have no need for--ever--for an abortion to be called a Moloch worshipper, is hurtful to the core. Especially people who are in the trenches doing the physical and mental work to support those such as the above in real time. Like it hurts. Its divisive and unfair. We Christians have got to do better. "ROE" wasn't a Moloch-only tool. Unless you opine that it was a Moloch tool to supress women, hurt hungry babies and divide families who cannot afford to feed children.

Statistically, 98% of abortions are a tool of Moloch. Nearly all abortions are done for socio-economic reasons and/or backup birth control. Take a moment to check out this medical journal article advocating for "After-Birth Abortion: Why Should the Baby Live?" (Infanticide). Rape and incest make up less than one percent, and health reasons around 1.14%. But even with the health issue, the principle of double effect can be used and the baby either delivered early or an emergency c-section performed. There is no reason to kill the baby first then deliver it, as opposed to just delivering the baby alive, even if the secondary unintended consequence is the death of the baby.

I think pro-abortion Christians really need to get back to the Word of God, and re-acquaint themselves with God's commandment not to kill. Re-read those passages where people sacrificed their babies to Moloch (interestingly, they did so because they believed Moloch would grant them fair weather, good crops, and economic prosperity). Study over how God says He forms the human person in the womb, and how John the Baptist leapt in his mother's womb, filled with the Holy Spirit when Mary greeted Elizabeth in the Gospel of Luke. Take a look at the Didache, an early Christian text from the 1st or 2nd century, which instructs Christians not to commit abortions or infanticide.

I strongly recommend that you watch an abortion since you believe "no one is killing babies."
Fetuses have heartbeat.
Fetuses feel pain.
Fetuses suck their thumb.
Fetuses move.

It can't be a baby out of the womb and not a baby in the womb.

Abortion causes dismemberment of a living person or injection of a chemical to stop the fetus' heartbeat. Think about that happening to you.
Although abortion propaganda is very heavy on telling women the lie that it's "just a clump of cells" common sense tells us otherwise.

Agreed. Humanity isn't magically conferred upon passing the birth canal. A fetus is a living human being.

Ma'am, the goal was to end abortion. From the current state of things, it's pretty clear that women's (especially black women's) health and neonatal care did not make it into the last 50 years of prayers or voting decisions. Whatever happens now that abortion is no longer a right, just happens.

This is an inaccurate and often prejudiced slam. We are the ones who started hospitals, orphanages, and schools in Western civilization. We've been doing this for over a thousand years. And we continue to do so. Catholic Charities, for example, is the largest NGO charity in the world and help families, and women and children. In the U.S., there are more pregnancy centers than abortion clinics. Perhaps if pro-abortionists stopped FIRE BOMBING the pregnancy centers that provide diapers, formula, etc. for pregnant women, they could do a lot more good, don't you think? Doesn't that show you where their priorities are? They're mad about Roe so they go destroy a charity set up to HELP pregnant women?

Also, I doubt the pro-aboritonists care about women of color. We make up 12% of the U.S. population but we comprise 39% of the abortions in this country. Black babies are aborted at a 5x higher rate, 75% of our children are born out of wedlock, yet we're supposed to applaud this and think this is an act of compassion toward black women and children?

I am proudly pro abortion so thank you for the acknowledgement.

I have no knowledge of your claims of violence therefore they must not exist.

What I do know is that I'll be back in a few years to check if those halleluiah's age like "her emails".

These stats mean NOTHING.
Its ironic that you make such a statement of the bolded when its these same pro-abortion Christians fighting to ensure babies not just LIVE in order to fulfill a commandment-but HAVE LIFE. These same pro-choice Christians have been BEGGING "Pro-Life" politicians/leaders to pass sensible gun laws to PREVENT the shooting DEATH of children in school and people out WORSHIPPING in churches, or out and about. These same pro-Life folk ya'll have hitched your carts to who refuse to take bold moves to save lives today. Where was the 50 year fight to ensure Christ's children can eat, not be abused? Not die in school by AR-15's? Have shelter
Its my belief that changing a law won't get you a net number of babies saved over lost. We Ya'll are celebrating a law but babies will still die if not more, and their mothers too based on the situation in the past and the current conditions of today. Its like pro-Life Christians refuse to nuance the situation and just went for the low-hanging fruit. The easy stuff like a "law" to make them think now the word of God is done. So when you all do your high fives and congratulations saying God's will be/is done...it makes little sense in the grand scheme of things. The "right" manipulated, lied, misconstrued, villainized black women, poor women, and many Americans to get to their goal. When God don't need the help of you, a law, and definitely not lying, racist politicians. We want babies born here to have a life they can thrive from. Its annoying to pro-choice Christians like me when these threads pop up that totally miss the mark. Not killing babies--duh. But Gods word is far from done when the end result is the abject oppression of his people. And that's all the overturning of this law will do.

I'm just so through with this issue. I spent almost 1/2 my work day TODAY trying to talk a pregnant black woman from committing suicide today with prayer, activating our local moms group, and then I have another mother who maybe losing her baby who is very sick. I'm our here GRINDING, putting REAL WORK with my faith! So you need to understand I'm well acquainted with God and his word. Because to me LIFE DOES MATTER. Life in the womb. Which is why I do talks on prenatal nutrition for the public. Life outside of it. Which is why I just did a town hall last night with a BLACK woman running locally here who is wanting to make real change for women and families so they don't HAVE to make a decision to abort and can enjoy their pregnancy and the life growing in them. And don't think I haven't done the work to help a mom who was considering an abortion not have to go through it. Not through condemnation to make a change, but real work to help improve her conditions to compel a change of heart. I didn't need to guilt her with scripture. And she knows God better as a result. A law won't save us. Compassion, empathy, and love will. All you guys have is scripture, thoughts, and prayers with a little condemnation. Ya'll can depend on these white folk who claim to save BLACK BABIES all you want. Their ACTIONS say otherwise.

So sad. Lies, smoke and mirrors. Pro-Choice folk are out here begging pro-Life people to do something about gun laws, safe water, healthy environments, address hunger, affordable daycare, better pay and wages, but they refuse to pass policy despite having all the power to do good in their very hands. How would you know black babies are aborted more when its white people who can afford abortions MORE? Whites who can pick up and leave their city or state to abort a baby. Whites who can afford abortion pills (which aren't always counted in the number of abortions) and other means to terminate. Abortions done in private clinics aren't counted like that at community clinics. So few clinics exist now its hard to get an accurate picture. And the stats don't matter bc its a breach of privacy. All abortions are not captured. So the numbers have been skewed and a narrative created for years. What I DO NOT believe is that these white folk give two cents about BLACK babies, BLACK women, or any WOC.

Random people who misguidedly bombed a Pregnancy center RECENTLY bc they only now heard what millions have known for years was that Pregnancy centers were centers that discouraged moms from getting abortions. That doesn't replace the hundreds of abortion clinics assaults where doctors and women were murdered by Pro-Lifers over the last 50 years. Pro-Lifers shrugged and called them one-offs.

Yes the first centers of education were created by religious institutions FOR THE ELITE, royals and aristocrats as far back as the time of Ptolometic Egypt if not before. Well recorded as far back as the time of the Crusades--old news. The Catholic church is the last to stand on ANY moral high ground with their history of giving alms with one hand while having blood and the stain of abuse on the other. No one walking this earth has the moral high ground or the "right of it" no matter how much one claims to.

Again, This change will not save babies. The OTHER things pro-Choice people have been BEGGING this pro-Life leaning government to address WILL. And more mothers will live and pregnancies will go to term.

A year later and the new ban has contributed to an increase in pregnancy losses bc of the confusion of the bills and bans. OB/Gyns are reporting an INCREASE in adverse pregnancy outcomes directly bc of the end of Roe. Women who wanted their pregnancy are now having to get hysterectomies because they couldn't get abortion-related treatment after a miscarriage. I think these are the unintended consequences of misguided legislature based on emotions and people meddling and not science or medicine. It will take some time for people to look back and realize the zeal and the decision to end Roe was a mistake. Clearly, losing the ABILITY to even have a baby was not the goal--if Pro-lifers care.

What makes it so bad, is that those fighting for the van, aren't really going back to involve doctors to try-I mean TRY and get legislature to at least allow for procedures that can just save a woman's uterus. I mean it's insane. We can't hitch our votes to people who don't care about a woman or her body. Just what her pregnancy is doing at that moment. They don't have to foresight to consider the entire woman or her family. It's really sad and ridiculous. God wasn't attached to their decision. God isn't glorified like this.

Cross referencing the adverse pregnancy results from 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022 then 2022-2023 will help add perspective to your statements @naturalgyrl5199. There were a lot of cardiovascular trends, pre eclampsia trends and still birth trends (amongst many others) prior to 2023 and this specific legislation. Those trends have pretty good documentation if you want to take a look at that data. Comparing adverse pregnancy trends between the US and other countries is useful too. Take care.

Is this a D&C? (Dilation and curettage) I had to have one of these done in my early 20's because a doctor injected me with steroids for my allergies that caused my period to last 3 months. I was told the procedure was one of the components related to abortion.

This has only been a year in so we don't know the long term implications. However, with pre-eclampsia, cardiovascular trends, allostatic load from stress caused from implicit racial bias, adding a delay in a D&C which has often caused sepsis-often causing removal of the source of the infection, the entire uterus just looks like the worsening of an already horrendous maternal picture in the US. That and the fact that women now are forced to carry pregnancies to term.

Ya.
A woman is suing the state of Texas now and I think the hospital who turned her away. Let me check. I think this was discussing in another thread. But I think that the end game discussed upthread is ultimately harmful to women and by default, children.
