Natural or Organic Hair Care Products

I've been trying to use only natural or organic haircare products on my skin and hair. My hair has really grown a lot as I transition!! I currently use Aubrey and various oils (castor, shea butter, aloe vera gel etc). What line of haircare products are you all using that's totally natural or organic? And has it helped your hair?

I've been using Karen's Body Beautiful (www.karensbodybeautiful.com). I just straightened part of my hair yesterday and was surprised at how healthy it was. I get the products in unscented because the fragrance irritates my scalp really, really bad. You should try her sample pack, it has the hair butter, hair cream, hair oil, and hair milk. Her products are the only ones that have worked on both my shrunken hair and straight hair.

i use oyin and ashas
I love oyin juice sprays- they are the only things that
keep my scalp from feeling sore and oyins products soften my hair on contact

ashas is a good product to I LOVE mane attraction. I switch to ashas when I get bored of using oyin

I use chagrinvalley shampoo bars and they are great to use in a combo with aubreys conditioners

I use Aubrey's conditioners as well, and am looking for a good line that includes poo and moisturizers. I tried the Aubrey poo, and it seemed very drying, but I will try it will oil next time and see how it works. Anybody find a good organic poo that doesn't leave your hair feeling dry/stripped and tangled?

Thx for this link...these products look really good. I have been searching for a hair milk type of product (don't really like oils).

On my second look see, I'm buying this entire line....THANKS

Aubrey shampoos contain coconut oil soap as a base this is extremely drying to our hair and can irritate the scalp

Aubrey's condish only
Soignee Cell Rejuvenation (MSM poo, condish, deep condish)
Miessence Clarifying Rinse Only
CWS select poos and condish
Beauty Without Cruelty...entire line
Real Purity select poos and condish

I did not realize how great this assortment of products had been for my
hair until I tried OCT and 'The Hair' went into a state of shock from all the chems.

I've not had any breakage, shedding, split ends nor other hair problems over
these years using natural/organic products...I rotate frequently.

hi there,

these have been on my to buy list since the beginning of the year. May I ask if the soignee is drying to your hair in any way? Also, with the clarifying rinse does it leave you hair extremely stripped after you use it? CWS what does this stand for?

Hi tishee

I love the Soignee line, especially the DC which saved 'The Hair' after my OCT adventure. I have not found the line to be drying but keep in mind that I rotate these products frequently and use each line for special purposes.

Soignee Botanical Shampoo with MSM is a pure and natural shampoo that produces a rich, luxurious lather that is enriched with soy and wheat proteins, vitamins, herbal extracts and essential oils. Soignee Botanical Shampoo contains MSM and Panthenol along with herbs and vitamins that help to repair hair, promote silkiness, manageability and a healthy scalp. Soignée MSM Shampoo also restores a radiant beauty to all hair types, especially chemically treated and damaged hair.

Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Water, Soya Protein, Herbal Complex, Decyl Polyglucose, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Panthenol, Rosemary Extract, Chamomile Extract, Aloe Vera Gel, Soap Bark Extract, Soap Wort Extract, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Primrose Oil, Lavender Oil, Vit. A, Vit. E, Citrus Seed Oil All

Soignée products are paraben free All Soignée products are hypoallergenic and cruelty-free! All Soignée Care Products contain no Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate or chemical preservatives

Soignee Botanical Hair Conditioner: Formerly known as MSM Quick Hair Conditioner. A special conditioner that promotes silkiness, especially for damaged hair and is also an ideal hair detangler. Soignee Botanical Hair Conditioner is pure and natural, enriched with wheat and soy proteins, herbal extracts, vitamins, herbs and minerals high in sulfur containing amino acids, Meadowlawn Seed Oil and essential fatty acids. The result is a hair conditioner packed with nutrients for beautiful, healthy, shiny hair.

Soignee Botanical Hair Conditioner contains no chemical preservatives, no dimethicone and no carbomer. It is hypoallergenic, 100% plant derived and crueltyfree. After shampooing with Soignée MSM Shampoo, apply to damp hair and work into scalp. Leave in for 1 – 2 minutes and rinse.

Ingredients: Essential Fatty Acid, Base-oleic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Borage Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). Rosemary, Sage, Horsetail, Coltsfoot, & Nettle Extracts, Hydrolized Wheat Protein, Hydrolized Soy Protein, Balsam Tolu, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Cysteine, Cystine, Methionine, Vit. A, Vit. B, Vit. C (Citrus Seed Oil), Vit. E, Guar Gum, Panthenol, Aloe Vera Gel.

Soignée Botanical Deep Conditioner with MSM is a special conditioner that is pure and natural and combines glycogen, derived from oyster shells, and lactalbumin, a protein found naturally in milk, with vitamins, herbs and minerals high in sulfur-containing amino acids. The result is a hair nutrient ideal for all hair types, but especially good for damaged or chemically processed hair. Soignée MSM Conditioner contains MSM along with herbs and vitamins which help to repair hair, promote silkiness, manageability and a healthy scalp.*

I've found the Miessence Clarifying Rinse much better for my hair than just diluted apple cider vinegar. The price seems extreme but you only use a tbl to a cup of water and it lasts and lasts. I could probably whip this up myself...but I simply do no feel like it. These products come with an expiration date stamped on the bottles.

Ingredients: Purified water, organic apple cider vinegar, organic bitter orange extract, organic nettle extract,
organic horsetail extract, organic rosemary extract, organic burdock extract, organic sage extract, organic grapefruit seed extract,
organic lemon essential oil, natural gum.

CWS stands for Cosmetics Without Synthetics...great line.

If you decide to purchase any of these product lines, send me a pm and I'll tell you where I have found the best prices, they do vary from retailer to retailer across the net.

I'm waiting for a response from Karens Body Beautiful about their preservatives. Everything looks good on the web site but I was unable to determine what was being
used to preserve the products..maybe vit E???

Have a great day...:yep:

I only know of one true organic product that is in my stash (it has the USDA Certified Organic label) - Terressentials. I use their hair wash and it has put my hair into a state of shock. It removes silicones and all that other junk found in most products from my hair. My curls pop like crazy because nothing synthetic is weighing it down!

Many other products out there aren't truly organic, but they do have organic ingredients for the most part. It just bothers me when a company touts the word "organic" when the product as a whole isn't. At least Qhemet and Burt's Bee's will say 98.7% natural or something to that effect.

If it doesn't have the USDA Certified Organic symbol, it's not an organic product in my opinion, but it is better than something else out there that you know is laden with chemicals. I like Max Green Alchemy too, but they use organic and pure plant origins like Aveda - they are not entirely organic but they are 100% natural. It gets confusing after a while :ohwell:

I use the entire Lush hair care line
I just started using giovanni products as well

I agree with the previous poster about some products not always being totally organic as said. I find myself looking hard at the labels, it's quite a bit of work involved but, for my hair..it's worth it. :)

I tried Karen's products and they were a bit heavily perfumed for me.

JLove, I noticed their products are offered in unscented...which is what
I was looking to purchase.

Please tell me what products you purchased and how did you find them to
work with your hair? Do you remember what preservatives were used?

TIA

i use the shea butter mixed with jojoba oil from natural oasis. it has allowed me to retain a lot of hair but i stopped using it for keracare creme hairdress. but i will moisturize my hair with the shea butter tonight. it is wonderful and the smell is amazing. they also have other natural products with honey and oils and even hemp.
i have the hair balm with honey but its heavy so i only use it during the winter of when my hair is really dry.

I like Giovanni as well.

I also use curl junkie's leave- ins as well as the curls line. Not organic, per se, but no mineral oils, silicones, or parabens. And oh, yeah-- V05 moisture milks are the greatest.
