Which Joico condish are you talking about? I LOVE Joico. The Moisture Recovery Line is the best. The K-Pak line is good too. I think all the joico conditioners have proteins in them. I have always had great results. If you're looking for strengthening I'd say go for the K pak collection. If it's moisture you seek, then Moisture recovery is the best!

ITA. K-Pak is their protein line, and Moisture Recovery is the moisture line. Both contain strengthening proteins, but Moisture recovery is much lighter than the K-Pak line.

My hair is very protein sensitive, so for me, even the Moisture recovery line is too much protein. I can't use it when I'm trying to get myself back on the moisture side of the balance. :nono: I use Kenra and Elucence for pure moisture. I use Moisture Recovery when I'm already pretty balanced and need just a hint of protein. I use K-pak for when I need more protein than that. :yep: Joico makes the best quality protein products out there.

OOh i see...so even If I use the moisture recovery line it will still be protein based?

I think it depends on the user. Like I mentioned, for me, I still consider it a light protein product but others get amazing moisture from it-- so it depends on you and your hair's condition. Trial and error, basically.:lachen:

All of their products have quality proteins, but like Sistaslick said, the Moisture Recovery line has much lighter proteins. My hair loves protein so the Moisture Recovery Line is great for me because it allows me to consistently get a tiny protein boost, which keeps me from needing to use stronger protein conditioners as often (although KPAK is the joint).

Damn..I just bought Aphogee for the protein...and I wanted a good moisture shampoo and con lol...ugh all this hair care stuff is making me broke lol...Sistaslick you mentioned Kenra for complete moisture? Thats what I want, something thats complete moisture-based...I do have Neutrogena Triple Moisture Shampoo and COn, but I dunno I kinda wanted to use something more "exclusive" don't know if that's the right word to use lol...I bought Biolagie and it didn't really do nothing to my hair, I used Nexxus same result, now I want to try Joico but Sistalick mentioned Kenra as an ultimate moisture line...hmmm imma have to look into that one as well

For me, a relaxed and permanently colored 4a, the moisture recovery line gives me great moisture with just a touch of protein. Like Sistaslick said, if you are already balanced, it will keep you that way. It will depend on your hair as too what end of the balance it will be for you. For me, it is more moisture than protein. It gives nice slip and it makes my hair smell good. I love the moisture recovery shampoo too.

The Kpak line for me is one of my all time favorite hair products. For some people, the kpak daily conditioner will be enough to serve as a light protein with a touch of moisture. My hair loves this stuff and I use it by itself sometimes, just leaving it on for a minute as directed. This is great when you are closer to too much moisture in your hair and you need something too help bring you back to center quickly and gently. My hair is always soft after using. It also works great as a mid protein step conditioner in the relaxer process.

All of the joico items have the pH listed on them as well. The Kpak intense hydrator is another great conditioner that is more moisturizing than the kpak reconstructor and the kpak daily conditioner but it still contains a little protein.

I bought Aphoghee and as I believe, it's also protein based...would I have too much protein going on if I used the Joico Moisture Mask the same week as Aphogee? Like I want to get into the habit of deep conditioning once a week and wanted to deep condition with Joico (like Co-Wash kind of deep conditioning, where I just wet my hair and place the conditioner on and sit under the dryer)...and I dunno if that's too much protein, thats why I was looking for a solely moisturizing conditioner.

Well, the moisture balm is extremely thick and sometimes depending on the hair can be too much.

As far as too much protein, that depends on your hair. One thing I have learned is to stop planning ahead for usage for products that I have never used before. I would try the moisture balm on its own first and then decide if you like it and if so, then how you want to use it. Protein in a moisturizing conditioner isn't always a bad thing. It just depends on what else you are doing to your hair. For me, using products that have a little bit of protein in it keep me from needing intense protein treatments as often. My hair also holds on to moisture better with a little bit of protein here and there. If you decide to try it, just get it from some place you can return it so if you don't like it, you won't be out of your money.

That's so true. Many times I bought products because I planned ahead and assumed they would make my hair look fabulous, only to be disappointed. I know you have to learn from trial and error, but sometimes that can cost you and arm and a leg, some stores I bought my products from didn't have a return policy.

Girl get ya butt to that product exchange forum and see if other ladies like. I know that you may not get what you paid for your stuff but its better to get like 1/3 of it then for it to just to set sitting in your cabinet collecting dust:yep:

And on another not ladies have you tried the Sallys branded Joico? How does that compare?

Good suggestion

As far as the Sallys version.....I don't think they compare at all IMO. If you want a protein treatment that is cheaper, I actually like the motions protein products, duo tex, vitale reconstructor, and aphogee stuff better than the joico knockoff.
