So i'm planning on installing a weave in a few weeks (i'm tired of seeing my hair everyday....i get discouraged every time i take my cornrows down). i've NEVER had a weave in longer than two weeks because i'm afraid that the hair will not look the same. i was on my fav blog site and saw pictures of solange and wanted that weave ASAP!!!! BUT the problem is that i dont know what type of hair that is :nono:
Hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction. Now i dont need the exact type she has (the only person that will know is the one is her hair stylist). But if you know of a GOOD brand i can use that will last a month on me without the shedding or tangle that would be awesome!!!
First my regi for 09: i'm listing my regi so that you guys can fix me up with my perfect match :lachen:
Monday: Apply MT and OCT to scalp (mixed with castor oil)
Wednesday: Apply MT and OCT to scalp (mixed with castor oil), Co-Wash, DC, roller set
Friday: Apply MT and OCT to scalp (mixed with castor oil)
Saturday: Wash, (insert monthly treatment here), DC, roller set

Monthly Treatment:
1st Saturday: Hot Oil Treatment
2nd Saturday: Cholesterol Treatment
3rd Saturday: Clarify Shampoo
4th Saturday: Black Tea Rinse

And now the moment you've been waiting for.....the pics!!!!
This is the hair wet - Pic Taken Jan 1st

This is the hair dry - Taken Jan 3rd
Looks like she had a roller set or curling iron applied to the hair (FYI I love this entire look...maybe it just me:ohwell:)

Trendsetta---If you could go on to BHM the ladies have been giving some negative reviews basically warning people not to order from Halleys curl---lately in the weave section. So yea i know their hair looks great and I would love to order from them also but I also take heed of what others reviews are with vendors especially when it comes to spending alot of money on something.

I haven't had any problems with them. What are they complaining about?

Well im sure others havent... I believe Jamaicalovely just installed some Halleys curl also--I guess more of the service. And i think someone mentioned something about the person being mean to a cancer patient. I'm not sure but here are the threads about it.

But i still think her hair is very pretty so i mean it just maybe like lets band together and hope she loses business type thing...because anytime Halleys curl is mentioned its like they just say dont order from them and check into other vendors.

These posts are definitely disturbing, but I did find some other threads with positive feedback. It seems to be 50/50 on Halleys Curl. Luckily I have only had positive experiences so I would definitely use them again.

But definitely do your research OP. I have also use Extensions Plus Relaxed. You may want to try the EP Royal Hair. EP is more expensive, but I have used them them before and the quality was excellent. I started using Halleys Curl because the prices were a lot better and the closure is the most realistic that I have seen.

Yea i just went in to my stash and digging because i have EP Relaxed Texture and EP curly from last year that i never used. I know im bad but maybe bcuz i never found a good stylist to put it in either. Dont want to waste that expensive hair on having a bad stylist install it.

EP Curly definetly looks like what Solange is using. And most of the celebs(Sanaa, Gabrieal union etc) all mostly use EP. So I wouldnt put it past her that this isnt it.

ITA about Halleys curl closure looking real...

Does anyone know how many ounces of EP curly you need for a full head? I already have 6 ozs and i want to make sure i have enough.

Trendsetta im teling you the hair is very soft textured to the touch and very nice even after a year of being packed away in my closet.

Well first let me say I love solanges weave its beautiful!:)
Secondly I have similar hair its from bronx hair supply its called spanish wave, It can be reused as long as you wash it and take care of it. I have had the same hair for a year and have had it sewn in for 2months at a time about 4 times last year(in now) and the hair looks as good as when i bought it!
My avatar pic is the said hair it was wash n set at the dominican spot.
Let me know if you need more info to get it

Gorgeous!!! That looks like Spanish Wavy hair. I bought mine from Adorable Hairdo in Manhattan. It curls when wet and can also be roller set and styled of flat ironed bone straight.

That is the only hair that I ever used when I was weaving. There are some pics in my fotki under "fusion weave". I was able to reuse the hair (at least once) when I had it sewn in on wefts but not when I did the strand by strand aka fusion.

It could also be Malaysian hair. The Asian "housewife" on Housewives of Atlanta seems to have this kind of hair. I saw it straight and they showed her in the pool and it was super curly....gorgeous!!!

Isn't that her natural hair? BHM weave section seems to all agree that it's her hair, not a weave.

Extensions Plus gave me my best experience with weave hair. Very natural and durable. It was more expensive upfront, but over time it was worth it. I still have the first pack I purchased in July 07.

I have both of those and they are beautiful. If you decide to use one of them, consider getting the matching closure -- I found nothing else that was a quality match. Also, after calling EP, send pictures of the hair you want to the CR -- she will be able to match your desired curl pattern to the bundles they have, as well as to a closure (should you decide to use one).

Try Lanikshair.com -great hair, price and customer service
Indiquehair.com - pricey but beautiful hair from their pure collection (esp) curly
Indianhairs.com- Directly from India can be hit or miss but you have to specify exactly what you want via follow-up email and only order the hand-tied weft ( the machine weft sometimes people have had tangling problems) but you get a pound of virgin hair and with proper care it's beautiful.
Naturegirl.net-beautiful hair, very pricey wefts are delicate

All this hair can be reused for about 6-8 months or longer. Hope this helps

Extensions Plus - Natural Wavy. It curled just liked that..and flat ironed like a dream.
