Hi Ms. Dolapo,

i love sole & cinnamon. It smells yummy, softens the hair, and i noticed if i massage it into the scalp, i experience less breakage!

I've used it before...it leaves my hair feeling soft, smells very cinnamon-like but I haven't felt any tingling ever.

I use this and it always tingles. But then my scalp is sensitive and always spanking clean.

those of you that get tingling from it, do you 'poo your scalp or do you CO wash. since i started Co washing, the tingling i used to get from my nioxin silk elixir has stopped :(

You may have scalp build up from putting conditioner on your head. Conditioner is for the hair, shampoo is really just for the scalp...for your conditioner washes rinse the scalp first, massage, and condition the hair at least an inch or two away from the scalp. Your natural oils should be able to take care of the hair two inches up from the scalp on its own. If not oil lightly with safflower, sunflower (both can be bought at the grocery store) or jojoba oil (if you got heavy pockets like that). HTH

you are not STUPID!!! You are just learning through trial and error. It is okay. You know I was doing the same thing until I read hair rules by A. Dickey. He is a natural hair expert in New York. He wrote a book for all of us (minority women). He wants us to love and care for our natural textures and he gives us a few guidelines on how-to. It is an excellent read.

I use an organic root stimulator scalp scrub to get back on track with the scalp, it worked wonderfully. I just concentrated on my scalp. It has some sulfates in it, but I can feel the slightest tingle from everything and no more flakiness. Oh yeah, my hair is growing pretty well too. ;)

yeah, I got my at the Chinese owned supply store in my town. This is what is in it:

water, sodium laureth sulfate, polysorbate-20, PEG-20, Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Lauramide DEA, Trethanolamine, Aloe Vera, Phytic Acid, Sea Kelp, Menthol, Rosemary Oil, Capsicum, Horsetail extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Nettle Leaf, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Sea Salt, Polyquarternium-15.

you have to add your own baking soda, and it is a bit pricey for 6 oz. I paid 12.99, but a little goes a long way if you just use it on your scalp with the little toothbrush that comes with it. I put my hair in about 16 braids/plaits before I use it.

You're only supposed to put conditioner on your scalp if the directions state that it is to be used that way. Especially deep conditioners. The Sole and Cinnamon conditioner says that it's supposed to go on the hair and scalp. There's a few meant for both.
I do conditioner washes all the time but then I'm using very light conditioners. Those manage to get my scalp and hair clean and my scalp is very healthy. The condition of my scalp is the second thing that stylists always mention when they're doing my hair.

Tai what conditioners do you use for your conditioner washes? Ive been using V05. but ive been using the thick one...the nourishing oasis lately. im guessing thats the culprit

I use a bunch of them. I'm a complete PJ. But I tend to use DDTA, White Rain Tropical Coconut and Fruit Revitalizing, Suave Milk and Honey, Tresemme Moisturizing and Anti-Breakage, Suave Balsam and Protein, V05 Blueberries and Cream and Kiwi and Lime, and St. Ives Jojoba and Raspberry. I like all of them but my faves are DDTA, St. Ives, and v05 Blueberries and Cream. I try to avoid conditioners with 'cones in them and ones that are heavy. I can't use the V05 Oasis line at all. It builds up on me fast and feels gummy on my hair.

For a good scalp cleaning I just use tea trea oil and scrub into scalp with Qtips.

I've used this, and it made my scalp tingle. It smells great too. I no longer have it in my hair care product stash (gave my last 16 ounce jar to one of my nieces).

I just ordered from sickbay last week (got order yesterday) and they still have the 16 oz available. I bought 2 of the 8 oz. ones and then wanted order more and they were all out. I must have gotten the last 2 of those. But shopdr.com has them, as well.
