Avocado & Egg Herbal Conditioner

Ingredients

1 Avocado

1 egg,

1/4 cup of oil of choice,

8 oz of strong herbal tea (mixture of yarrow, marshmallow, horsetail, rosemary and nettle).

Method

Blend all ingredients.

Shampoo hair with a clarifying shampoo first, then apply conditioner, cover hair in plastic wrap and wrap head in a hot towel or a heating cap on LOW - another option is to exercise while you are conditioning. You just don't want the conditioner to get too hot or you will be picking scrambled egg out of your hair for days.

Let sit for 15-20 minutes, then rinse.

Follow up with an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse or a lemon rinse.

Another Recipe:

avocado
coconut milk.

Blend or process (with a food processor), apply to hair, leave in for 15-20 minutes, do an ACV rinse afterwards.

I haven't tested this out as yet, I'm going to try it this weekend :)

Yes, you should peel the avocado first. Take of the skin, then cut the flesh away and discard the seed.

This Domincan girl around my way told me I was better off using a ripe avocado than buying the conditioner.

So I'm gonna try it (using the flesh, removing the seeds) sometime before the summer is out.

I'm currently doing the avocado-coconut milk recipe right now (I'm typing while under the dryer )

What I did:

- Warm approximately 2.5 oz coconut milk for 30 seconds (I'm using canned milk)
- Peeled and deseed small avocado and put in food processor (I have a small one)
- Add warmed milk
- Puree

The mixture felt great. Like a real conditioner, all smooth and yummy (if a bit green looking). Before I did all this I took down my bun and comb and plaited my hair in 4 big plaits. Make for easier application. I didn't plan on using heat, but I decided to at last minute. So now I'm going to heat my hair for 15 minutes, on low setting. After which I'll put a shopping bag over the plastic cap I have on my hair, leave the stuff in for about 3 hours, rinse with plain water, and then an acv rinse. I'll keep you updated.

Note: I unplait the plaits, applied the mixture, taking care to smooth it (with my hands) down the length of the hair, and then after each section I replaited them.

Outcome: Hair feel well moisturized. No major slip or anything of the sort, just healthy and moisturized. Definately a keeper.
