Ok ladies, im a little puzzled about the two...

what are the differences?

I know when I go to the hair dressers she deep conditions my hair before she shampoos , is this the right thing to do?

is it any different than a pre poo treatment?

how do you fit these in your regime, is it before you shampoo or after you shampoo? and if its before should i put the conditioner on dry hair or wet...

sorry for all the questions...

I always thought that deep conditioning took place after shampooing when they sit you under the dryer with conditioner. What you decribed sounds like a pre-poo because she is doing it prior to shampooing your hair.

I always wondering the same thing, but I think that the difference is, some conditioning, such as protein and reconstructors, work better AFTER cleaning the hair.

While, pre-poos soften up the hair prior to shampooing, making it easier to detangle and add sheen and moisture back into the hair. I'm taking a WILD GUESS

i wonder about this too... which one IS better? pree-poo? or deep conditioner?

sometimes i do both, but there are times when u dont' have enough time on ur hands... i'm thinking an after-shampoo deep conditioner would penetrate the hair more than a pre-poo, b/c the pre-poo is basically applied on dirty hair, per se...

I don't think they are mutually exclusive...I prepoo(oil/moisturizer/random conditioner/honey) almost everytime I shampoo. I "deep condition"(protein or moist conditioner) once every two weeks.

Going the Distance
I'm not sure which is better but I do both everytime that I wash. I pre-poo with oils and conditioner before I wash. I noticed that this helps to prevent my hair from drying out during shampooing. After I shampoo I deep condition before styling my hair. Both have helped with the condition of my hair.
