:lachen:Yes you read right it took me a week lol. Between writing article,s and taking care of kids etc I was totally unfocused, BUT they're finally done....and in just enough time for my first over night date with DH in like 7 YEARS! I did them in an updo I saw on youtube somewhere. I think it was Blackonyx. I'll be doing the Nonie method of redoing them one by one as needed for about a year clipping the ends as I rebraid to make my transition easier.

I didn't catch up all the hair on my edges and as you can see the left side is more thin than the right but I'm really starting to think this is just my natural hairline. I don't have pics of me as a baby/child, but ALL THREE of my kids have the exact same hairline as me (though no widow's peak) complete with thin baby hair covered temples so I guess I gotta let go of my fantasy of having a perfect lacefront like hairline lol.

Anyways, I think they came out cut for my first attempt and it's great not having to "do" my hair or deal with the two textures. Ok rambling now, gotta go do some writing, pack up my kids for grandma ans grandpa and get fione for my maaaaaaaaaaaan!

Great job Kbragg!! :yep: That'll make it so much easier for you not to have to focus on your hair during your later months in pregnancy.

OT: Kayla saw your siggy pic and said "That's a pretty girl!"

You did a very good job! Are they heavy?

Thanks everyone!:bighug:

Nope they're not heavy at all. Actually they're super light and I can barely tell I have them in:yep: I was doing some online research for an article I was writing and learned that yarn braids and creads are especially good for ladies with fine or weak strands because they are lighter than your natural hair, and much lighter than human and synthetic hair:yep:

I did a set of Senegalese twists earlier this year and used a pack and a half of Kanekelon hair (cut in half) and those were way heavier than these.

Another big plus is these don't itch my scalp or back and arms when against my bare skin like synthetic braids do, and don't give me the heebie geebies like human hair does:lol:

ETA: They were also easier to braid and clean up(no stray hairs)

Very nice. They look professional. If you'd gone faster - maybe not so. Good hair can't really be rushed.

Girl I ain't patient LOL just unfocused:lol: IF my kids would have acted right:rolleyes: (I have ALL THREE home right now for the summer:nono:) and I didn't need to work, cook or clean, I would have been done in less than a day but literally I would get like 4 braids done and then have to spend an hour doing something else.

What I did is I started at the back first and bought this really cut 3 toned scarf (It's basically 3 thick stripes of black grey and white that bleed into each other where they meet so it's like 3 scraves in one:yep:). I'd just throw on my scarf and do my regular duties in between braiding;yep: It was worth it though because I'm not having to deal with the two textures or having to "do" my hair period:yep:

They're super cute! I had wanted some a while ago because they looked like locks. But my stylist said they would damage my color treated ends. I love the style you put them in to. Don't forget to keep them moisturized so the yarn won't break off your hair.

Actually yarn (Nylon NOT wool) is better for your hair than synthetic hair is because it doesn't block you hair from getting moisture and wont rob it of moisture like human hair will. They also "grip" better so you don't get that breakage from them sliding.:yep:

Oh and they don't "fuzz up" when you wash them so I can DC and cowash like usual without wrecking the style:grin:

Kb, those look good! And a week to do all o' dat looks very normal to me. In my old age, I've gotten so lazy and can't do my braids in one sitting, so I know all about stopping, wearing a hat till the next time the mood hits (Well, in your case, it wasn't laziness :look: ).

Welcome to the world of easy haircare!
