I CONFESS.......

For the past two weeks i have been using Dax pomade on my hair and scalp (the light blue formula).

Yep, i went old school and brought the 'grease' back out. I can no longer ignore the fact that my hair thrived back in the day with this stuff. :yep:

My poor roots were crying out for something (i'm almost 1 year into my transition)......all these natural, no petroleum, no mineral oil fandangle concoctions are just not cutting it :nono:

My hair feels like great and i'm sticking with it.

Got anything to confess?

I confess that I never use sls-free shampoos because my hair and scalp like to be reeeaaally clean. I confess that I've gone back to blowdrying (but on cool air) because airdrying is more trouble than it's worth.

I don't use them either. I find that sls free shampoos leave my dry, stripped and crispy. My hair hates them.

BSS yellow shea butter is the most vile smelling thing I have ever encountered...I wrapped it up in 3 walmart bags after my first use and hid it in the back of my closet. :drunk: smooth skin and delicious hair are great but that mess! :nono:

My best twistouts are when I use grease on wet hair. :sekret:
I can't get it on my scalp though as that is a recipe for disaster, i.e. dandruff.

I confess that I use heat weekly, I'm a user not abuser, I also confess that co washing is hit & miss with me. I love it, scalp feels clean, but thinking my hair doesn't like it. ummm what else??? I can't think right now, but I'm sure it will come to me....

Don't worry be happy
Yeah i'm with you Bublin. I recently went back to 'grease' as well. Butters are good, but I needed something heavier to seal my ends, my hair despises shea butter. I made a pomade of 2 parts vaseline and 1 part hempseed oil and my hair is happy :yep:

ETA: Yeah I lub me some sulfates too :yep:

I confess that I too have gone old school with the "grease"....Liv by Summit to be exact. I know I know. Don't laugh, but it has sulfur in it and keeps my NG moisturized. I only did it as a stand in until I received my BM growth serum.

I confess that I use Dudley's Scalp Special on my scalp and hair and the first three ingredients are mineral oil, petroletum, and lanolin...

Sigh...and I want the other hairdress that they have too...

I just missed greasing my scalp like my grandma used to do...I use a light coating :look:

I confess that I overlap relaxers. Always have and always will. I experience NO BREAKAGE or NO DAMAGE at all. I use Silken Child or Just for Me and my hair gets bone straight and still keeps its thickness. My avatar pic is the result of relaxer overlap. My hair was necklength March of this year. Everyone's hair is different so do what works best for you.

I confess that I'm newly natural and have yet to wear my natural hair. I'm in braids. As someone who has always had straight long hair I'm just not ready to walk out the house with hair this short and kinky. I'm done with the physical but not the mental transition.

I confess when I first started my transition it was for the sole purpose of the health of my hair. I was not fond of "the look" and had planned to be a heat trained natural. But the more my hair grows, the more I'm warming up to it.

I don't care what ingredients a product has, if I love it, I'll use it.
I brush my hair every day, even when it's dry.
I rip off my single strand knots.

What 40 looks like.
-going natural is not an option till I get older. My hair is too thick for me to deal with successfully so until I feel more comfortable with it, texlaxing FTW.

-I like Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding and until I find a suitable substitute, I'm rolling with it. Works for my head.

-my hair LOVES heat. In the fall/winter I blow dry on the highest setting on my dryer with a Denman every other week and flat iron on 395. Nothing else will work. I don't roller set and a wrap takes four hours to dry; I'm cool on that.

-relaxers have NEVER bothered me; it was misuse of heat that messed with my retention.

I confess to scratching my scalp before, during, and after washing. I know it's bad but it feels soooooooooo good. Using the pads of my fingers just ain't enough.

I confess that I rarely do protective styling because I want to enjoy my hair. The only time I tie my hair up is in the winter and when it's really windy so it doesn't get blown in my face.

I confess that I really HATE weave! I know a lot of people on here do it for PSing, but I really cant stand it! Never have and never will! I was thinking about doing it once I came here but I know I would hate every second of it!

I confess that
-I feel like relaxing my hair right now
-I'm tired of wearing my hair in these fuzzy individual braids underneath my half-wig
-Even though I'm in this personal no heat for the summer, I feel like whippin' out the blowdryer & the sedu to flatiron my hair.
-I like my hair straight & even considering to heat train my hair.

That is all for now.

I confess that for the first time in years I want to blowdry my hair for sake of big uniform twistouts. I would blow on cool though.

I need to buy a new one.

I also confess that when I relaxed, I didnt base my scalp and it never caused me to go bald or burn, and my hair flourished.

I confess that i want the longer heealthier hair without the work.
I confess i'm barely a month into the taking care of your hair business and i'm almost over it.
I confess that i hate to wait more that 6-8 wks for a relaxer.
I confess i hate to co-wash, and moisturize and seal nightly.

i confess, that black women are mistaken to think that indian remy wavy weave hair looks natural sewn/glued onto their head.

i confess that i do think most bw are ashamed of their natural textured hair. and that is the reason they use chemical relaxers.

i confess that type 1 hair smells like a dirty dog when its wet.

i confess that some folks are passing off a weave as their hair on certain hair boards.
