Wanted to smack a girl

WOW!!! I can not believe that hair had so much power. You should have told her to go buy some weave and stop bothering you with ,"None of Your Finking Business....," questions. I know it is not lady like to be rude and nasty, but sometimes it is just down right necessary. I am glad you let it go though, GOOD FOR YOU. However, if I were one of your home girls riding next to you on that bus, she would have heard my mouth.

I am sorry this has made u wanna keep ur hair up.

Don't let 'em change u... if u wanna wear ur hair out, DO IT!!!!!

When I rode the bus (during college), I used to get snotty comments & stares all of the time from skanks on the bus.... well guess what?? Now I'm natural & STILL get snotty comments & stares all of the time from skanks (behind my back) .... so it's gonna happen!!

... shake it off my dear... (( just think about this... u have somethin' they prolly want ;) ))

This is soo true, I used to be very self conscious about my natural hair as well. I just came to the point were I had to accept me for me and say f@#$ what other people say or how they look at me.

I really don't understand why some black women have to be so damn catty sometimes it really pisses me off . Girl do you forget what everyone else has to say about it. If I was concerned about every chick that rolled her eyes or gave me a dirty look, I'd never leave the house. Next time you see her on the buss fling it back behind your shoulders  .

I agree...it's so damn sickening...all that was so unnecessary...if she liked your hair she either could of kept it to herself and admire it from afar without all that drama...or compliment you and say how much she likes it...This is the typical black women drama...when is this ever gonna end?

Stuff like this would give me more fuel to the fire, I would have started running my fingers through my hair playing with it, slipping it and what not, when I reach my hair goal, IDC who or what anybody got to say about after the struggle and trial and errors I went through to obtain it!!!?! PLEASE!! :) *calms down*

Was she being nasty or did you just take it that way? It sounds as if she liked the way your hair turned out...but maybe could have been more polite about asking...in any event. Wear your hair the way you please. I can't see how that incident would make you not want to wear your hair down...you should have swung, and said Its beautiful isnt it!

Um, I thought your hair was real. :ohwell:

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but didn't she say your hair was fake and you didn't correct her?

If she thought/said your hair was fake, then why was she so mad?

NOT ME........

I'm the quiet chick that nobody knows on campus, and don't want the attention.

Sweetie,

I've heard that Southern graciousness has more to do with being pleasant while you do whatever the H. you want...(My Atlanta friend says that true graciousness has at its core a set of steel cojones.) So, while you were gracious in the face of flat out rudeness, don't let that deter you from wearing your hair however the H. you please whenever the H. you please...It's your hard work! Why shouldn't you reward yourself?

After that, I am no longer wearing my hair down

No girl..I agree with others on this board. Wear your hair down with PRIDE!

Rude people like that girl on the bus just MAKE me want to wear my hair down, and then swing/flip it right in their faces! Does this make me a bad person? :look:

Yeah I agree...Why wear your hair up b/c of some nasty chick?...you worked so hard to get your hair the way it is today...show it off with pride...there are always gonna be millions of people like this everyday/you will not be able to avoid this...I encounter them everyday whether my hair is up or down...and it just boost my confidence even more that they are willing to take time out of their "busy" schedule to focus on me...Just look at it as a confidence booster...as long as they don't touch you...don't worry about a thing and continue to wear your hair the way you want to.

Haha..if it had been me, and she asked me in a nasty tone (after just pushing me) : "Wonder why I'm looking at you?"

I would have replied: "*yawn* No, not really"

When she asked, 'you wondering why I'm staring at you?' You should've said, 'no' and not said another word. That would've nipped that BS in the bud right there. Or better yet, not even said that. Just acted like she was the breeze blowing by and laugh when she made a complete fool out of herself trying to get your attention, but getting everyone else's attention instead.

Divine SCREW WHAT PEOPLE SAY! It's your hair you wear it the way you want!
