I say if you have length goals then don't cut your hair unless you NEED to.

Need = you've got splits effin your ends up.

I agree with Whimsy - I would not cut anything until u get to where u want to be or past it then look at what you need to do.

I agree with Whimsy too.

In my case, I want to get a little past BSL, and then trim until everything is even and healthy. When that's done, I'm going to proceed to HL.
But that's because my ends are a HAM from pre-LHCF relaxing (they combed it through EVERY TIME :nono:), and they have to go. When they're gone, my hair will be healthier, it'll look thicker/longer, and my retention will improve.

But If yours aren't unhealthy, and your hair just grows like that, cutting is a waste of time and length. And for the record, I don't see anything wrong with your hair.
Just let it grow, and when everything is past where you want to be, then trim back to get it even. And keep in mind that if your hair just grows that way, it won't be very long until you have to trim it again to keep the shape you want. So it makes sense anyway to focus on shape after you've reached your goals, because by then, you'd have to trim anyway to maintain the length.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Lol, you're right OP. My APL on you would most likely be BSL, and I'm 5'10"

ETA: Besides that, different hairs grow at different rates. I have less growth in some areas than others. Patience is key.
