COME ON LADIES! open your eyes. Oprah don't wear her natural hair. it's a weave. she has worn weaves for years. she is a BILLIONAIRE so she can get the stuff that looks real.

I for one do not think her hair is fake. I have seen her many times on the show when she wasn't done up and her hair looks like it's been relaxed, but not all the way. They have also shown her coming out of rollers and getting a blow out. Also she has a world class hairdresser and her hair is naturally very thick; keep in mind that her hair probably has newgrowth most of the time to make it look even thicker. She may add pieces every once in a while, but I think her hair is real...especially since she had one episode explaining why her hair was so flat at the beginning of the season. She explained that she had just gotten a relaxer.

2 hair stylists have told me that they know that oprahs hair is fake. they said they are trained in spotting weaves. I wasn't sure i believed them.
Sometimes it looks like a lacefront cause its too thick and pretty and sometimes i think it's real because she has a master stylist and i know she uses Phyto which is supposed to leave the hair thick. BUT after seeing her on wednesdays show when she had Terry McMillian and her husband on the show i am FULLY CONVINCED that she is rocking a lacefront. Why? because i could clearly see a small 1/2 inch patch in the front top of her hair which was very obvious it was her real hair. It was just a little little tad bit darker but it was more rough and it looked like it hadn't been relaxed in a while. it looked brittle and like it had gel in it to try ot get it to curl like the rest of the wig. But it didn't.... the wig/lacefront was curled purfectly and that little patch appeared to be frizzy curled, like it's time for her to get her hair relaxed again so it'll blend with the weave better. I've been watching to see if she'll slip one day and not cover her tracks good and wednesday was the day... And if you guys are referring to the pic this week of her in rollers...that was a show in her past. that was years and years ago when she had the fluffy do. i believe that her hair was real back then. I'm not knocking her cause i absolutely love her lacefront and i would surely kick out some mad dough to buy the same wig, but i do believe that it is a wig. Andre wouldn't dare wash/roll/ heat her hair every single day to get the perfect curls.... as if she has the 3hrs a day anways......

My girlfriend won a car from Oprah. She was on that show. She said it IS a wig. And during commercials Andre' was spritzing the he** out of it.......She has a little piece of her own natural hair out.....that is why it looks to real...her real hair is out at her hairline..........

See that's exactly what i was talking about in my prior reply. I knew that people who wear lacefronts they always have the hairline of their real hair out and usually it blends really well but eventually one day, they'll slip up and the 2 textures will be noticeable. Too bad i don't have a pic to show you guys but on wednesdays show with Terry McMillian, oprah surely did have that hairline piece looking rougher and less curlier than the wig.
but i do not believe her real hair is natural. I have heard that andre used phyto relaxer on her. she probably stretches alot which is why her hair looked rough. I would guess that when she wears her hair straight and flat-ironed...i would bet that is her real hair. It has an african american texture to it....and it doesn't kink up like if it was a weave. but who knows for sure...

i'm thinking terry had a weave notice the short more orange parts at the front and oprah had a wig or weave notice the color/texture of the front edge and how nappy were her edges on the beyonce/color purple show face it yall Oprah has nice thick shiny healthy possibly long hair but she also does extras!!!!

I've seen her natural hair plenty of times on the show. Who knows? Maybe O is a secret member of LHCF!

I saw the show with Terry on Wednesday. I know exactly what you're talking about.
Oprah interchanges her hairstyles. Anytime you see her hair straight and you can literally see the part at the side (her scalp) that is her real hair. Anytime her hair is curly, she is wearing extension. Her natural hair is relaxed and long. After wearing her hair curly (extension) for while, she decided to wear her own hair out but she got a lashing from her audience (so many emails from people who didn't like it) so she decided to go back to her extension. It is easy to spot when she wears her natural hair out. She usually have a part to the side and you can see her scalp. If you cannot see this part or her scalp, it is fake. If her style is a curly one, it is fake.

Yes Oprah has long thick thick hair and sometimes wears weave...sometimes a wig. But what the hell is wrong with Gail's hair. Hers is not done as nicely as Oprah's. I remember Gail having long thick hair also...but that stuff that's sticking out on the side of her wig is ruff as hell! I think Gail's hair has thinned out an awful lot...it just doesn't look as nice as it used to. Andre had better start paying a lil more attention to Gail's locks.

What I have noticed is that she has been experiementing with half wigs. And I ain't mad at her because I like it. I actually achieve the same look two years ago with a sew-in. It just depends on your preference. I just haven't grown accustom to wigs because at the end of the day I don't like the idea of taken my hair off and putting it on a stand (silly I know) I like the versatilty though. I guess I just haven't found the right one yet. If I do, I will rock it.

Oprah does wear wigs, extensions and braids from time to time. Usually, when she wears a wig or a extensions though, it is for versatility and additional length. But the texture, thickness, coarseness, and fullness is all hers. She has had it even as a little girl ( if you have seen some of her pictures as well as when she first started in TV in Baltimore.) I like her hair alot and she is person that I watch when it comes to hair because hers is exactly like mine and I get alot of people trying to figure out if it it is real or not, especially around touch up time when my hair grows out instead of tamed and downward at the roots. It sort of looks like my hair is hovering over my roots which can definitely attribute to my hair looking and big and making people think I add extensions for the volume. I try to do do what I can when it gets like this because it can easy look like what I can helmet hair. It can just look so unreal. I call it my lioness stage. It can really be a hot mess. A blessing if you know what to do and a curse if you don't.

Andre doesn't do Gail's hair. They featured the stylist a year ago when they did that show with Queen Latifah and her movie Beauty Shop. She uses another stylist.

That is not necessarily true. I have worn just the top out (or sections of teh top) and blended the rest. Two who are really good for wearing their natural part and alot of weaves are Naomi Campbell and Iman. The show they did a few weeks ago they had practically flawless weaves. I really liked the work of Naomi's weave on that show it was flawless and yes she had her natural part. It is a matter of technique and proper color and texture matching.

Here's a couple of pics of Miss O when she visited one of the prisons in NC for an interview. This was late '04 though...I don't watch O now, so not sure how long her hair is now or if it was a weave in this pic..

I think this topic is such debate b/c as others have stated she sometimes wears her real hair and sometimes she adds some help. Recently she seems to be doing more weaving/wigging. Maybe she is tryna give her real hair a rest. I dunno... The prison photos look like her real hair IMO. The Terry Mcmillan show was a 3/4 type wig with her hair out at the front. I have also seen some photos where it looks like she has a regular ol' track weave. I havent seen any shots of her where it looks like a Lacefronts just regular wigs...

Oprah did a seminar here in MD and she stated that she does wear weaves. I think it went something along thte lines of..."White People...there are things that you have to accept about me...we can't wash our hair everyday...black women...yes I do wear weaves"

Well I got my hair done by Barry Fletcher last week and he told me for a fact that is her and she occasionally wears pieces for fullness. Off topic he told me Tina Turner was all weave, I was shocked
