....YES I do I just got my hair twisted w/extensions using this Afro loc hair and my experience was HORRID. The hair is HARD.....is that what people think real kinky hair feels like????? NO WHERE NEAR. THERE has GOT to be some soft feeling nappy twist extension hair out there???????!!!!!!!! WHERE IS IT??? The hair I used cost me 8 bucks per pack.....The regular kanekolon (sp) does not seem to want to hold twist....its too soft...

What to do????

It is horrible isn't it? It will be ok, you just need to leave it. It takes a few days to settle soften and drop properly.

I really hate this hair and I refuse to use it any more. THerefore I no longer do kinky twists, I just use regular Kanakalon hair and do spiral ends...I will be updating my album this weekend to show what it looks like.

Thanks for starting this thread Netta, I've been considering kinky twists but have had some thoughts about the hair even though I've never used it.

Alli, I am looking forward to your photos!

To late Guapa, I took them out already, lol. I'll try again on Saturday.

LOL, and I thought I was bad. Try doing a conditioner wash first. I don't know about you, but I always wash what ever hair it is I'm using. It does soften a bit, not that much though :ohwell:

Girl, I'm with you about those kinkys. I got them last year and they did not agree with my hair. I will not get them again. Also, the hair is horrible and it irritates the heck out of my neck.

Hmmmm I might have to try the Janet Line in the future, how much does it cost????

I can deal with my natural nappy hair but processed nappy hair that feels like CARPET....... I 'caint' do it !!!!

It felt so hard in my head......

I even washed it first......AND sprayed with braid spray!

Just sad....I can't believe this stuff sells.....

I LOVE YOUR TWISTS!!! I always wanted long kinky twists, but it seems as thought you can never get it pass mid shoulder length. You said u used reg hair for braiding?? what brand?? never thought of that...what did you do to the ends?

I used the brand NINA for my kinky twists. It's much better than the Marley brand that you see in the BSS. At the time, the braiding salon carried this brand and I hadn't seen it in the BSS (but that was 2-3 years ago). Anyway the hair is very soft.

Okay....I don't remember the brand of hair (Don't kill me) but I know it was 100% kankoleon (sp), so I don't think the brand matters. I think the hair only cost 1.99/pack! Back in the day (when I had a perm) I used to use kankoleon hair for my twist and they always worked out fine. Also my ends where dipped in hot water to seal the do.

Okay Netta, I'm glad my advice worked! I stopped using Kinky hair for twist extensions long ago! They are a pain! I will be updating my album this weekend so you can see what my style looks like (similar to yours but I do curly ringlets on the ends) the hair is so much softer and it isn't as damaging in my opinion as the kinky hair. Isn't it much easier to use regular Kanakelon hair? I was able to do the twists much faster this way because I wasn't fighting with the kinky hair! You did a fabulous job btw!:)

hello all, i'm a newbie who has been lurking around for awhile now. i was doing the micros for almost a year but they did nothing except break my hair and give me traction alopecia so i switched to the kinky twists within the past four months and they have worked out great, if you wash the hair right after it is finished and then saturate it with african royale spray and infusium it softens out really nice by the next day. ur hair looks gorgeous netta

Netta ---you look great ! Those twists are hot... I scheduled a braid appointment for this Friday but now, I think I will twist it instead... I have a few bags of Softex for braiding. How di you seal your ends or are they hanging loose ? Oh ...and love the length...

I'm excited now !

I was wondering how you sealed the ends!
I always wanted kinky twist but the kinky braid hair is soooooooooo ruff.
Plus it's the hair is sooooo thick and short, it makes my head look big.

This is AWESOME!!! I'm getting my hair done like this tommorow
