I'm cool. My hair is the best it's ever been in it's hair existence.
;)

I've never had any problems with the product (4 touch ups). I've been fortunate.

Same here...I've been using it for about 13 months and my new growth is so healthy and silky. It's definitely a winner.

Yes. I am experiencing a lot of shedding. I'm new to the board, but have been using PhytoSpecific for almost a year now. I'm shedding sooooo much. My hair is 4a/b and is very thick, so it doesn't look thin. The strands are long, as if it's popping near the new growth. I mean every time I comb or touch my hair it's coming out. I feel like a chemo patient. I'm about 6 weeks post and I'm seriously considering relaxing. In the past I could stretch 8-10 weeks with other relaxers. But I have so much new growth with Phyto that I don't think I can do it. I generally use Ojon, Aveda, Infusium, Mizani, Phyto, Terax and Alter Ego--garlic products. I'm a complete product junkie, so I went out and purchased Surge products, mango butter and MTG. I haven't gotten into the conditioner wash thing yet b/c my hair takes a long time to dry. Any suggestions? Am I using too much protein? How much is too much? Please help.

How long is your hair...and is it heavy???? Are you maintaining the moisture balance at the lines of demarcations on the hair shaft and on the scalp after the protein. Especially important with heavy hair (weight of the hair on the line of demarcation and with very fine hair, just because it is often so fragile... Are you doing warm oil treatments occasionally with a fatty acid. oil like EVO or hemp seed oil. Hair needs moisture, protein and acid to keep a balance and good ph. hope this helps. bonjor

Thanks so much for responding. Yes my hair is very heavy. I don't have a digital camera yet to take photos, but it's about 2-3 inches below my shoulders. I'm sitting here with EVOO on now. I'm planning on washing it out tonight and maybe putting it in a bun w/vaseline for a day or two. I have not been really putting anything on after the protein, but I will begin now! Thanks again.

I would do an overnight conditioner treatment: apply some light moisturizing conditioner like Suave and sleep in it overnight. Rinse in the morning and apply an oil on wet hair to seal the moisture in.
