My Most Labor Intensive PS EVER: Extension Braids! [Pics]

I was inspired to do my own extension braids. It took 35 hours over a period of 5 days, but I am finally done and ecstatic that I won't have to bother my hair until Christmas. I am pretty impressed with how well they came out on my very first time doing any type of extensions, so I wanted to show!

Thanks ladies!
It definitely took a looooong time, but part of it was because it was my first time. I hope it'll be faster next time.

How do you take care of your hair while in extentions?? I used to wear them ALL the time, but I never took special care w my hair so it never grew/flourished.
What do you do so your hair does not thin/weaken?
One more Q, I promise lol. What type of hair did you use? I'm assuming synthetic..? Kanekalon?

Looks great, but then again you have such a pretty face that any style would look good on you :yep: I remember when I used to do my own extensions... it used to take basically a week of constant braiding. My fingers would feel numb, my neck would ache, and I'd be ready to scream by day 2 lol.

Now it's not feasible anymore because of my schedule and they don't make fake hair long enough for me to use (that I know of). I had the idea of folding my hair up into thirds and doing the extensions that way (tough to explain) but I don't have the time. Maybe come January I might try it out... if I do I will keep you ladies posted.

They look great, it gets faster with practice unless you have very thick hair. You are beautiful too :).

When I wore Senegalese twists, I moisturized them everyday, co-washed once a week, and washed with diluted shampoo once a week.
I used 100% kanekalon jumbo braid hair.

You look great! What kind of hair did you use, and how did you seal the ends?

I used a little less than 4 bags of 100% kanekalon jumbo braid hair. I burned the ends, twisted, and then dipped in hot water.

Really cute and you hung in there. I paid someone to do small box braids without extensions on my hair which took her 3 hours. I can't imagine doing my own extensions.

Weren't you getting a weave this month?

Yay! They look great. :)

I hope it doesn't take me that long when I do them on my little sister. I will give up and leave her head half done. LOL

I don't think it would take nearly as long to do on someone else. It'd probably only take half as long!

Looks like they were done professionally.:yep: Great job!

Wow... thanks! I really appreciate that.

Wow, I can't believe that is your first time! They look great, first time or not!

Thanks so much!
You guys are the best.
