Thanks, so much! Those waves are what made me BC earlier than planned...couldn't keep my fingers out of them and wanted to see what else my natural hair would do!

Basically after I apply my leave-in & moisturizer, I take small sections of my hair and brush them through with my Denman to smooth them. Then I take my index finger and thumb and stretch the hair out, then coil the hair into a spiral around my finger, pull it back out a bit to loosen the hair so my finger will slide out and they spring back like little coils. Try a youtube search for "coilout tutorial on natural hair" and see if anyone has done a vid. HTH!

Ladies, a good amount of people are very nice about it and complimentary. There are others who give backhanded compliments that make it seem like I just have it easy and my natural journey isn't as legitimate as others b/c I have hair that is easy. I understand that type 4 ladies have some additional challenges, but I think just being natural in this society and in my profession (I am a lawyer in Nebraska! YIKES!) is a challenge. My hair used to look like this, relaxed, layered & pin straight:









Some people just have their own issues! I've surrounded myself with people who support me and I make myself mix cds with songs that talk about confidence so can support myself. No "whoa is me" story from me...I just wish some people would keep their jiggaboo/ wannabe issues to themselves or better yet, work on themselves so they're not making remarks about others. A lot of people told me it wasn't cute and that they don't understand what the problem was for me to want to go natural b/c my hair was cute before! UGH! Go figure!
