Experienced Weave wearers

I want to get a kelly rowland type sew in weave sometime mid january. I have never had braids or any type of weave. What are some pointers on weave care. I don't want to end up with less hair than when I started. I plan on keeping it clean and moisturized daily. I figure this will be a good way for me to jumpstart my hair growth b/c I use daily scalp treatments easier. What kind of hair? what are some good brands? thanks

Definitely sleep with a satin scarf at night. It keeps the hair from looking like a "weave" longer. The brand of hair I buy is inexpensive but it works for me since I get my weave done every 4-5 weeks. It's the Freetress brand. I pay $8.00 per pack where I live.

Make sure the braids arent too tight...
If needed ask the stylist to reinforce any thin areas w/some fake hair when doing the braids.
Use an applicator bottle to help get moisture products down into the braids.
Wash ur hair in the shower.
If needed apply a vinegar rinse using applicator once a month to help remove residue from ur scalp.
Use some braid removal spray when it come time to take the actual braids out.
