Can you imagine bantu knots on knee length hair. That's stupid rediculous. haha. Im trying to figure out how to braid my hair for my next install. cos it's harder to do it with long old ends sticking out.

That is IT!!!! I'm going back to grease and vaseline it never hurt me shoot when I used it my hair was elbow length or mbl and now I'm trying to be as natural as possible and my hair ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Watch just watch lol but anyway her hair is amazing

I read that too. Most women don't even attempt to grow their hair passed BSL less try growing to MBK or WL much less try growing to CL-KL so most women will never know what their true term length is.
I suspect for most it is around CL, but if that's the average I'm OK with it

Wow that is some beautiful hair! My Mother in law and her sister have a similiar reggie with vaseline and they are waist length and butt length. I havent tried it yet but I am thinking about it!

Yep. Nexxus shampoo and conditioner and melted vaseline for sealing.
Also, she used the maxiglide to straighten when she wants the straight look.

Double Thanks! Vaseline is the perfect sealant. It never hurt our hair when we were little. If my hair wasn't being pressed, all my mom used was water, some blue grease, and a brush and my hair was fine. Sometimes its best to go back to basics.

Actually Chicoro switched to a thick un-petrolatum product. But I think any thick consistency product like a butter or thick oil or PJ will give the same sealing effect if used correctly.

This little girl's mom used to be a member here at LHCF (I miss her, she was hella funny) and I remember when she had to take down her daughter's hair videos because people were sending them hate mail and saying stuff like your daughter is not really black, she's mixedCan you imagine? Anyway I was drooling over her hair. I don't know if I would ever want knee length hair, but dayum it sure it perdy!

I wonder for the little girl whether age is a factor...since the mom was taking care of her hair, and her hair wasn't exposed to the environment and chemicals for as long as the average adult has, she had a better opportunity for her hair to flourish.

I don't, but my guess is that she was receiving hate mail again. Her daughters hair is absolutely beautiful. Some people didn't like her regimen (vaseline), others accused her of being mixed, etc it was a hot mess. I can only imagine how people treat her in real life.
She usually waits a few months and uploads her daughters videos again on YT so I'll do a search and try to find it.

I would have liked to see it too. I can't imagine "hate mail" about her daughter's racial make up....strange. I can't see her to speak intelligently on anything except that I believe anyone's hair can continue to grow ad infinitum, if proper end care is maintained. Black women tend to have more challenges than most in keeping the ends from drying out or snapping off due to friction. If genetics play a role, it is likely in the hair structure/ability to withstand environmental and physical stressors. Race mixing (which can and does occur before the parents) explains the wide variance within the race. It's not rocket science.
This is exactly I think we have to stop using these terms like "biracial" and "mixed" to describe people with parents of different races. It just feeds in to stereotyping and assumptions. So what if someone's mother/dad is white or asian? I mean, really? In almost all of our family trees, someone had a white or asian (native american/Indian from India/chinese/japanese etc...) mother or father. Having a parent of a different race might mean they have straighter hair, it might not. It might mean they have light skin, it might not. It might mean their hair has an easier time growing, it might not. Just as any of those things could be true of someone with two black parents. It's just an attempt to separate people of African descent who are united by historic discrimination, by creating false distinctions among us.
