Hmmm, I think I was between neck length and shoulder length 1 year post-BC. I did a LOT of co-washes and deep conditioning. Probably need to go back to my roots :)

I was shoulder length. I shaved my hair down to 1/4 inch. I am still in between shoulder and APL.(It's been 2 and 1/4 ys) My growth was fine but my rentention is not as good as it was then.

I got a BC in December 2007 and I had less than 2 inches of hair all the way around.

By July 2008 I had ear length hair, and by January 2009 (one year and one month later) my hair was neck length, just grazing my shoulders.

I was between neck and shoulder, and I had done a minor trim in between. At the time I was doing alot of co-washing and deep conditioning and moisturizing...hmm

O BC down to about 1.5 inches of hair March 12th, 13th, or 14th, 2009.

After a year, I am at the tops of my shoulders on the sides and the longest parts of the back come about 2 inches past my shoulders. I flat ironed this weekend and took pics yesterday but I have not yet updated my Picasa. Don't shoot me. I just don't do pics as much as I used to. Paying a lot of attention to my hair helped nothing in my life.

I think the best 2 things I have done for my hair were: #1, the BC. My hair is really healthy and thicker than it was previously; and #2 learning to protective style and leave it alone. Of course, I can't leave out moisture/protein balance...but that's understood after nearly 2 years on LHCF.

I twist and basically leave it alone until the next wash, when I may or may not detangle fully. It's great and works well for my hair.

HHG, everyone.

I had to vote other b/c I did another BC before my first anni. I suspect I will be between SL & APL at my first anniversary (9/2009) since BC. I can't wait to see.

I think i was SL about 2-3mths before my Anniversary.
Because by my Anniversary i was about 3in past SL, an inch or two past my collar bone. I also trimmed once(about 1in) in September.

But i still voted for SL since i am not APL yet:nono:

I will take progress pictures soon. I started with a twa that ranged from shaved (in the back) to about 1.5 inches (crown and front) now the back in touching the lower part of my neck and the rest is about 6 inches + It went through a very slow growing period at one point, but it seems to be picking back up again. I might straighten it in August...but then again...I might not.

I've been natural for a year and my hair is between ear and neck length. I am still trying to find a regimen that works for me and I've had some problems with breakage and knots so my hair should probably be a little longer than it is.

I BCed down to about one inch of hair. At my first nappiversary I was roughly shoulder length. It was very eye opening... I realized that my hair had been steadily breaking off for years and years. It was amazing to see the proof of just how bad my hair care practices really had been.

I BC'd to 0.5 in and by my first nappiversary I was just at collarbone length . I hit APL by my second nappiversary and I hope to be MBL (like LadyPaniolo:lick:) by the end of my third year. I know what I can grow, but as my hair gets longer, and I can do more styles, retaining all of that length is starting to become a problem :wallbash:.

Thanks for this thread OP, I needed it. I will be doing a buzz cut this Sunday. I'm encouraged now. I have nothing but damaged natural hair right now.

I was between neck length and shoulder length. All the hair hit at different spots bc when you cut it short like that its just not going to look even when "down".
