Escuse me if this is the wrong area, but who is a member on nappturality?
I am trying to get a referral so I may become a member there as well, even though LHCF is the # 1 resource.

pms are welcome.

yes thats what it seems like. registration requires a members name plus you to be friends with Deecoily on facebook. It requires payment too? I didnt see anything about that.

Could someone help me out? maybe i'm missinterpreting.

Noooo way! That insane! I refuse to get facebook and they force you to just to join. Girl you should just stay in here. I think I am a member there still I haven't logged in in a while.

Yes it looks like you have to either be a FB friend of Deecoily or be referred (not both). I didn't see anything about payment though. Interesting. I wish I could help, I'm not a member of NP (anymore).

I am a member but have not logged on in a while. I wonder what happened for her to start this.

The vibe is veeeeerrrrrrrrry natural. You are not allowed to talk anything about straight hair AT ALL or it will be deleted. If a person insists on discussing straight hair alot then they will be BANNED!!! I dont have a problem with that aspect because hey this is what she wants its her site and she can run it as she sees fit.

I like the site to be honest and when I was natural I lived on it, it made me very comfortable to have natural hair even when I heard it in the beginning (I am relaxed now this is why I dont go there as much)

Let me log in and see what happened, okay I am in let me look around.....
okay I did not find anything on there, however when I went on the facebook page and read the new requirements I found out why the change was made. From the few comments I have read there have been alot of of trolling, spamming and racists comments made. According to Dee she says that before you had to be approved but it stopped and now she has decided to start it up again. I did not read anything about a fee though.

Before you could be a lurker ( and view very limited forums), now nope. You have to be verified with her through facebook OR be referred by someone.

I've been a NP member off/on for 5 or so yrs. The vibe is indeed diff there, but I feel umm...more understood there.

Do you have fb? The reason why she has disabled reg. Registration was due to the hate mail/threads that would get started. This "fb" registration won't be long term though. Just hopefully til things settle down.

I learned a lot on You Tube. I love the regimented view NP has most times. It helped me clear my mind set that I could never be natural. I love looking at the hair care there and the how to styles.

The atmosphere is indeed different. I must say that I am more comfortable discussing hair matters over there because of my locs. Although I can join length challenges here, there aren't that many loc'ed heads I can communicate with or relate to. Over there I find inspiration, advice and extensive journeys of loc'ed naturals.
For everything else, I prefer LHCF. The makeup, nails, ET and health game is sick here.
Plus NP doesn't offer its phone app for free. That's a definite :nono: for me. I barely go online to use the LHCF forum nowadays and would rather use my phone.

I am an active member on np and lhcf. I LOVE np and have been there since the very beginning. I like this site just cause it's different. I am a natural and won't relax again, but I still like to see what's goin on over here, ya know?

If the fb thing doesn't work out, pm me and I will give you a recommendation. My only request is that you read and follow the posting/subject rules. I don't often give rec's but if you are willing to play by dee's rules over there, I'm cool with that :D

The site was getting bombarded by spam attacks by fake members. I think that is why you need to recommended or have a FB.

I am a subscribed member of Nappturality as well, love it!!! NP & LHCF have fees, its no big deal.

Nappturality gets a lot of hate and it's sad! New people refuse to read the board rules and get upset when their thread gets closed because they talk about perms or straightening their hair. Had they read the board rules they would see that those topics aren't welcomed on the site hence the name Nappturality.

If you want to talk about changing your hair texture Nappturality is not for you.:nono:

I'm a member of both..but I prefer it here...The vibe over there is mostly for 4a/4b type hair...I've been on there for years and I have seen alot of foolishness in regards to curl definition threads turning ugly and dont dare mention that u shingle ur hair..With all that said..I learned alot from the ladies over there..They are the reasons I'm natural..I know that site is mainly for tightly coiled ladies..but they aren't the only ones that join the site and everyone should feel like they belong..JMHO

Sounds like they have some great styles over there. That's what I am looking for. I am always looking for new protective styles for my natural hair. I can only bun so long.
